THE ST. LOUIS DARTMOUTH ALUMNI ASSOCIATION met early in October at the home of Carl Holekamp Jr. '42, for the first smoker of the current year's activities.

By-laws for the organization, which were ably prepared by James C. Jones III '38, were adopted without a dissenting vote, a vote of confidence of which the Prime Minister might well be envious. Later, the grateful group gave Jimmy the dubious reward of the office of secretary by unanimous vote.

The other officers, also unanimously elected, are: president, Howard J. Mullin, who claims to be a member of the class of 1928, but who looks more like Clark School '42; vice-president and chairman of the entertainment committee, Ed Grace '38, whose qualifications for the job are too numerous and obvious to be mentioned here; Carl Holekamp Jr. '42, as treasurer, inherits the usual slim balance.

An Advisory Committee of elder statesmen was named to assist the officers from the wealth of their experience in running the Dartmouth Club in St. Louis. Its members are Leigh Turner '04, Boyd Rogers '35, ex-officio as member of the Alumni Council from this area, and five men named George Spelvin 'OO. The corresponding secretary, who was appointed two weeks later, was in the kitchen having a beer while this committee was being appointed by the officers and promises faithfully to find out who the other elder statesmen are before publication of the next bulletin. He also promises to listen at the next smoker.

On Saturday afternoon, November 15, we are having a joint meeting with the Cornell Club for a buffet luncheon and a telegraph broadcast of the Cornell game. This will take place at the University Club, and is a resumption of a practice of pre-war years, when these joint meetings were heartily attended.
