Don't forget to write to the Hanover Inn for reservations for our 45th Reunion. I was in New Britain in January on my way South and called up Bill Ailing, who said he was making a good comeback after his illness and that he and Al Shilling have their reservations. The Inn says also that many have already applied.
When I wrote my last circular letter to the class I had a very nice letter from GeorgeElderkin. I had asked among other questions of the brother members "if they could still eat beans." George sent me a short poem on the subject which he said he had acquired from the daughter of an alumnus of Dartmouth. As I fear the ALUMNI MAGAZINE might not appreciate its high classic tone I will get George to give it at our Reunion. George has a fine family of two boys and a daughter who George says is a topnotcher in school. George and his wife took a trip through Roman Africa some years ago and his wife has recently published a book entitled From Tripoli to Marakesh. George says: "Its excellence is not due to my inspiring company."
Julius Arthur Brown, after taking a short rest on his return from his life work at Beirut, Syria, from 1909 to 1945, has become visiting lecturer in physics and astronomy at Colgate University. You may remember that Julius is descended from a long line of college presidents. His father was President of Union Theological Seminary, his grandfather was president of Hamilton College and his great grandfather, Francis Brown, was the third president of Dartmouth College.
