The deadline for these notes is the same, and as inexorable, as the date for the third quarterly estimated 1989 income tax payment, so an account of the mini-reunion scheduled for September 16 will have to come later. Herb Sensenig, reunion chairman, reports five room reservations at the Norwich Inn including TaveyTaylor, all the way from Santa Rosa, Calif. Including those residing in the area, about 15 are expected to attend the dinner at the Inn after the game.

Some people are operators and others are operated upon. Jerry Sass is more than a bit of both. Yet another operation recently has prevented him from attending the mini, but he plans to be in Hanover in October for Dartmouth Night. For his latest operation he had a Dartmouth doctor of course.

In 1981 Os Skinner sent out a questionnaire similar to Art Kneerim's in the Campaigner but including queries on important experiences, words of wisdom, etc. TaxConnell, mentioned last month, sent in a copy of his responses to Os. It made fascinating reading. Amazing what a major in zoology can lead to! He could not point to any particularly important eroeriences, as his career seemed to progress from one step to the next. One wonders whether this is a general rule or whether, and to what extent, a chance happening may have materially affected the course of some lives. Those of you who may have waded through the opening paragraphs of the writer's account of his first experiences as a griffin in China, part of which appeared in the Campaigner, may recall that, getting off the elevator at the wrong floor in 26 Broadway when looking for a job, he ended up in Shanghai rather than Hoboken. Certainly this experience, while somewhat extreme, is not unique. Marriage, job, war service, did it all go, as the Russians were fond of saying, according to plan? If not, what happened? Let's hear about it.

Paul Egner '59 reports the death of Millie Heyn, widow of Ed Heyn, on July 19. We also regret to report the death of Lin Gray on March 15.
