A sorrowful duty has come to your secretary in that he must report the death of our classmate—'"King" Martyn. "Chappie" always one of our most popular and loyal '93 men, "Chappie" passed away March 14th, one week after a stomach operation at the Proctor-Vermont Hospital. He was a staunch supporter of all class and college activities. He never missed a '93 Reunion. "Ed" and Mrs. Griffith represented '93 at the funeral.

Your secretary is especially shocked as the doctor's death occurred after plans had been made for the marriage of your secretary and Mrs. Edith Parker—the doctor's sister-in-law. Many pleasant visits had been visualized for this summer and we had hoped for many summers to come, but"Man proposes and God disposes." The wedding took place Easter Sunday afternoon at the United Liberal Church, St. Petersburg, Florida.

After a month or more at the Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater, Florida, "Bob" Ebbs was sufficiently recovered so as to be able to attend the March monthly luncheon of Dartmouth Men at the Detroit Hotel, St. Petersburg, Florida.

Word comes of the birth of a daughter, March 6, to Mr. and Mrs. John Pearson Spaulding at the Baker Memorial Hospital, Boston. John Pearson Spaulding is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William E. and Caroline (Pearson) Spaulding. So, '93 now has a great grandchild and, so far as your secretary remembers, this is the first great grandchild of the class.

The above information comes from "Dick"Pearson '20, who regrets that he was unable to see more of his father's classmates last June, but as secretary of his class (following in his father's footsteps) which was celebrating their 25th at the same time, Dick was busy looking after his more than 200 classmates.

The Manchester, Union last in December carried headlines as follows: "Native of Dover —Bank President—C. Lane Goss is fifth generation in family to hold such post." LaneGoss '25 is the son of 'g3!s late Charles Carpenter Goss, and Mrs. Winifred Lane Goss, whom we were pleased to welcome at our Reunion last June. Lane was recently elected President of the 118-year-old Worcester County Institution for Savings of Worcester, Mass.
