There are also quite a few of our men who have begun new jobs. Huntley Bennett is working for Macy's in New York City. Odvard M. Bergethon is an instructor in Mechanical Engineering at Norwich University. Dr. Frank Bousquet is on the staff of the New York Hospital in Ophthalmology, which the dictionary explains as the science which treats of the structure, functions, and diseases of the eye. Elly Burban k is a salesman for the Percy Kent Bag'Co. in Buffalo. Dick Castle has listed his profession as Journalist. GeorgeEhinger is a Sales Engineer for the Dorr Cos. of Chicago. Bud Elder is Advertising Representative for Hoard's Dairyman in Fort Atkinson, Wis. John Halstead is Administrative Assistant at the Booz, Allen & Hamilton Company in New York City. John Holmes is Traffic Supervisor for American Tel. & Tel. in Baldwin, N. Y. Howie Hoots has also joined the Macy staff in New York City. FrankHutchins is in an advertising agency in Rochester, N. Y. Cliff Jordan has been appointed Assistant Director of Public Relations at Peddie School, Hightstown, N. J. He will also assist in The Social Studies Department.

Tom Lantzas is Occupational Analyst for Pratt & Whitney in Hartford. Vincent P. Malahan is now located at Colgate University. Tom Murray is Research Economist for Warwick & Legler, Inc. in New York City. CarlTourtellot is a salesman in the Foreign Marketing Division of the Gulf Oil Corp. in Pittsburgh. Treasurer Rod Walser is a chemist in the Smith, Kline 8c French Laboratories in Philadelphia. Casper Wooldredge is an engineer for Kendall Mills in Walpole, Mass. Bill Alpert is a lawyer in Brookline, Mass., and Charlie English has the same occupation in Urbana, Ohio. Dick Fuller, having finished his studies at Northwestern, is a Salesman for the Johns-Manville Sales Corp. in Chicago. Tom King is Assistant Sales Manager for the R. M. Barwise, Inc. in New York City. Winthrop Lockwood is a Salesman for the Cherry River Paper Cos. in Delair, N. J. AlMeyer is an Account Executive at Radio Station KIST in Santa Barbara, Calif. CharlesMurphy is working for Cluett Peabody 8c Cos., Inc. in New York City. Robert Rogers is selling something in Seattle, Wash. Dave Hewitt has joined his father in the publishing of the Hanover Gazette as Circulation Manager. Fred Ferbert was awarded the Branch Trophy as the winner of 36-hole low net honors during a Labor Day tournament at White Sulphur Springs, W. Va. Paul Newman's play "Dollar Diplomacy" has been given the title "Someone at the Door." The play is scheduled for fall production in New York City.

Paul Talbot married the former Janice Swan in Carnation, Wash, on July 4. Mrs. Talbot was director of the Children's Theater in Reno for two years and was formerly a member of the English department at the University of Nevada. She is a graduate of Stanford.

Dr. Jim Andrew and Elaine Laura Flickinger were married in Akron on September 4. Mrs. Andrew is a graduate of Smith College. Jim is a resident at Receiving Hospital here in Detroit, also in Opthalmology. The Andrews spent a part of their honeymoon in Hanover.

Dick Welch and Christina Marquand, daughter of the author, were also married on September 4. Their marriage took place in Stockbridge, Mass. Mrs. Welch attended the Winsor School in Boston and Bennington College. Dick is completing his studies for a Ph.D. degree at Harvard.

Carlotta Harkness of Philadelphia, the Westover School and Goucher College, has announced her engagement to John Geyer. The marriage is scheduled for early November.

Emmy-Lou DeVeau of Larchmont, Smith College and Time-Life, is engaged to GordonSleeper. No date has been set for the wedding. Gordy is connected with the Indemnity Insurance Company of North America.

Mrs. and Lt. John Jay Kirby Jr. have announced the birth of a son, John Jay III, born August 8, 1948.

Among recent visitors to the Hanover Inn were Sam Cutler, Mr. and Mrs. Don W.Campbell, Bert Buehler, Rog Brown, Mr. and Mrs. John Ruppe, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hausman, Bill Schmitt, and Howie Germain.

HANOVER WEDDING: Dick Gilman '45 with his bride, the former Lucille Young of Hanover, after their August 28 wedding at the White Church. They now live in Hanover while Dick commutes to B.U. for graduate work and Mrs. Gilman teaches.
