Of all times to miss the Yale game! But thanks to radio, we got our full share of thrills and satisfaction. And we were in the same boat as many of you who were too far away from New Haven. Apparently, however, '36 was well represented judging by the College's record of who had reserved seats in the '36 section (somewhere around the 35-yard line, I'm told): Gene Anspach, Fred Bab cock, Dr.Joe Carson, Buzz Chapin, Pinky Conklin,Steve Dietz, Dick Dorrance, Bob Fernald, FredGonnerman, Arnie Hatch, Dick Knight,George McCleary, Fess Mack, Bill Macurda,Pap Mintz, Doc Tom Monagan, Tony Muello,Dune Newell, Rye Peck, Ray Reitman, VicSabary, Fred Shurts, Terry Staples, MorrieStein, Jim, Stephens, Dick Taylor, El Thomas,Seth Thomas, Bob Tyler, Frank Weston, ArtWasserman, Dr. Joe Wool, Paul Zens .... and there must have been many others scattered throughout the Bowl. Lucky guys!
Let s pick up our news round-up from where we left off last month
Brad Chase reports a new addition, Robert Ingalls Chase, on September 30. That makes it
a quartet—two boys, two gals. Johnny Creigh writes, "Still living in Garden City, Kans., and working in Deerfield, Kans. Wife, Beverly, still putting up with me. Only child, Libby, about one year now and doing okay. Making gasoline and getting along."
Budd Schulberg lives on a farm 65 miles from New York City (Inghamdale Farm, New-Hope, Pa.) with his wife and two young sons. He's working on a new novel he hopes to have out in about a year. Occasional magazine stories fill in the gap. Budd paid a visit to Hanover just in time for the Holy Cross game.
Other recent visitors to the campus were John Reardon and Art Lynch and wife.
Yumi and Jack Smith have written a musical comedy called "Carry Me Back" which will have been produced by the Connecticut Playmakers in Old Greenwich the first two weekends in November. The play is based on a mythical peace conference to be held in Buck Hill Falls, Pa. and attended by Truman, Bevin and Stalin. That we would like to see.
This past July, Bill Spring moved two blocks to a new house at 26 Manning Circle, Pelham, N. Y. He discovered Dick Coffin living in a neighboring town. (Keep your eyes open, Bill. The woods are full of '3.6ers.) Bill reports everything else remains the same except for sparser and greyer hair.

Court Catron extends an invitation to any of the gang who get out Reno way. In so doing, we're sure he's not seeking to break up happy homes. Court has been out there for the last two years, pioneering the Perlite business (Perlite, it says here, is an expanded volcanic glass used as a light weight aggregate in construction).
Better-late-than-never announcements. Barbara and Dick Jewell report the arrival of their first child, Daniel Ashley Jewell, on June ,6 last The George McClearys welcomed their second son, Joel, on May 20.
Phil Mclnnis, his wife Leslie, two daughters —Nancy, 9 and Susan, 5,—are settled in Concord, N. H., where Phil is Assistant Treasurer of the Page Belting Company.
Earl McEvoy is now at Columbia Studios in Hollywood, as a director and assistant producer. Watch for his name on the silver screen.
Andy Schmidt sent us two clippings wnich highlight the important happenings to his clan since reunion: (1) The arrival, in September '47, of Bellamy Hart Schmidt (2) A new job, since this past August-installment loan department of the Holyoke, Mass. Lnion Trust Company.
All the way from Dave Sanderson in Palamos, Spain: "We continue to exist huddled in i the shadow of the Pyrenees, fooling around with cork in its various aspects during working hours and listening to Radio iMunich whilst sipping a cognac the rest of the time."
Dick Hefler reports "nothing new." Which means, he still has one wife and one daughter (14 months old) and still with American Potash and Chemical Corp. in Los Angeles.
Lt. Cdr. Sherm Peabody has an extra room in his Virginia Beach home—waiting for any visiting '36er. Sherm wonders where DickDodge is these days. That calls for a public announcement, Dick.
Joe Dewey reports good Life Insurance business out in Columbus, Ohio,—especially Group Insurance and Pension Planning for Corporations.
