The Department of English at Princeton University is sponsoring the establishment of two endowed funds to provide the University with special book collections in honor of Dean Emeritus Robert Kilburn Root and Professor Emeritus Gordon Hall Gerould. In an article on the subject The Princeton Alumni Weekly of December 5, states:
"These two collections will enhance the value of the library for students working in the fields to which two of Princeton's best-known professors, the last of its 'preceptor guys,' devoted themselves as teachers and scholars before their retirement in June of 1946."
In reviewing the biography of Jerry, the article continues:
"A list of his publications—books, articles, fiction, reviews—would fill many columns of the Weekly. One would look far, and perhaps in vain, to find its equal in length and range."

Dr. Theron Huckins, brother of George, long a prominent practitioner at Tilton, New Hampshire, died January 3. He was much beloved throughout the community. He was contemporary with us for two years, graduating in 1897. Members of our class will remember him well.
The Woodward family published a book last December dedicated to their friends and containing nine articles selected from many written by Bones in an anonymous newspaper column under the heading "The Old Man Says."
The residue of Fred Locke's estate, which he left to the College, amounted to $11,902.69. In addition, he left small legacies to the Boston University School of Theology, where he spent a year in preparation for the Methodist ministry; to the Methodist Church in Kittery, of which he was a life-long member; and $500 for the care of his family lot in the Kittery Cemetery. Pretty good for a man who most of his neighbors and contemporaries thought was destitute!
Our honorary member, Charles W. Robie, is now at his winter address, 122 Park St., Sarasota, Florida, until the robins and bluebirds welcome him back to his farm at Meredith on the shore of Lake Winnipesaukee.
The Editor requested that copy be held down in length this month because of the space required for Alumni Fund news. However, this is all we could muster up anyway. Holding down copy is easy when classmates hold back news. Send some along.
