People say (at least they said when I last talked with people) that the first thing they read in the Alumni Mag are the Class Notes. Maybe. I had pretty much concluded that no one read them when I received an odd note from someone who put '99 after his name, indicating an undergraduate, and who said he had done so with enjoyment.
No word from classmates who, as usual, seem to be doing very little. Sometimes the offspring make up for it. Jack Zellers, for instance, reports that grandson John Wallace and family have just moved to Hong Kong, where he has been sent by IBM to sell computer systems to financial institutions. He should be there when China takes over, which ought to be interesting.
but, he says, their children and grandchildren don't let it stand vacant. They seem to be in good shape and he is dabbling in computers. No accounting for people. I avoid computers to the greatest extent possible and thank my stars I finished my business career before they became so pervasive.
Unfortunately, I had to write five obituaries this month. I regret to report the deaths of Les Mason on September 28, JackSugden on October 5, Ruf Munsell on October 23, Tavey Taylor on October 29, and George Williams on November 23.
