It is not often the fate of this corner to be embarrassed by riches, either in news or the usual sense, but this month the desk is piled high with something other than unpaid bills. Perhaps the new "dunning" policy following notice of change of address from the College is somewhat to blame; at least I hope there is some way of getting news out of shy members of the class.

"Martin R. King has been appointed assistant manager of the General Electric apparatus department news bureau "—Schenectady, N. Y., Gazette. "Author of 'No Place to Hide' Warns City of A-Bomb Peril".... Boston Herald. "Frank A. Paget, chairman of the 34th National Hotel Exposition, announces the appointment of Walter Averill as vice-chairman of this year's show to be held at the Grand Central Palace, New York City, Nov. 6 to xo ... ."—The Hotel Gazette. So much for the publicity-hungry members of the class.

Roland Jones' wife crashed through with a succinct bulletin of information on Rollie, to wit: "First of all I'd like to report the birth of our third son, Steven Gibb Jones, born April 23. Secondly, there is the news that Roland has left for Chicago to become district sales manager for the Lewis-Shepard Company of Watertown (Mass.) with whom he has been working for the past two years. His business address there is 4806 W. Chicago Ave., Chicago 51, 111. Roland would appreciate hearing from any classmates who live in the Chicago district." Let this be a lesson to all wives in the class; if your husband won't write, do it yourselfl

Oops, more newspaper stuff: "Attorney Myron E. Reinman of Girard Road, Hubbard, Ohio, who was admitted to the bar in Columbus Wednesday, will return to Youngstown to practice law when the state legislature adjourns."

Department of abuse: "For the record, I would like to correct a parenthetical statement made in the April issue of the ALUMNI MAGAZINE. True, I was once a "drummer" and, in a manner of speaking, I am now something of a "salesman." I suppose that to be a competent Account Executive in an Advertising Agency one must really be sort of a salesman.", signed Leroy B. Block. (Grey Advertising Agency, 166 West 32nd St., New York 1).

By now the annual Boston Beer picnic may have been held; according to Marshall it will be either the weekend of the 21st of May or the 11th of June, depending upon weather, —place: Stearns McNutt's place in Ashland, Mass. near Framingham. No doubt adequate publicity will be available in the Setter on this score. Marshall also reports running into Sarge Connors, out "drumming" up business for the Albany Casting Company, otherwise known as Blumenauer & Connors Inc. Chandler is slightly annoyed at this correspondent for omission of the significant fact that he is the co-author of a third boy, one Geoffrey, saying, "With three boys, the chances are much better that one at least will get into Dartmouth."

Paul Urion writes, from Rochester, N. H.: "We took our leave of the Old Dominion of Virginia last September and moved up here to Rochester bag and baggage. We purchased a house in September and after getting same settled, opened my law office in October of 1948.

"Bob Feineman is the only other *3Ber in Rochester. Gross Williams, the Frigidaife tycoon of Shreveport, La., and his wife, June, paid us a very unexpected and welcome visit the day after we moved up here. Dick Webb is now wifh the Leahy Clinic in Boston doing graduate work in internal medicine and perhaps by our Twentieth Reunion will be back in Springfield, Mo., practicing medicine. Howie Fogg continues to paint locomotives for American Locomotive Cos. at his home in Basking Ridge, N. J. and receives a nice monthly retainer for doing so. I received a letter from LewWilliams (that's more than I have—ed.) postmarked Indianapolis, Ind. Apparently Lew was married in a blizzard and hasn't as yet recovered from same.

"Our daughter Kathie is now a rugged hellion of 4. Our son Kim named after my late brother, Henry Kimball Urion Jr., ex '44, bears watching.

"The annual meeting of the Manchester Alumni Club was well represented by such '3B'ers as JohnMcLane, Secretary of said club, Bob Southworth of Standard Oil, Bob Feineman, Bob Reno (see below—ed.), and Hook Schneider, the Beer Baron of New Hampshire."

In direct response to the mimeographed form letter on change of address, I got the following dope on Joe Fogarty: "Partner in Law Firm of Dominick & Fogarty, President Newburgh Community Chest (Newburgh, N. Y.), three male offspring, no other honors." And from Bob Emlen, still with IBM, still two sons, no other honors, living in St. Davids, Pa. And lastly from Clark Fletcher, still Studebaker Export, still two sons (Clark 111 and John Cabot), no other honors.

A nice card from Bill Ganter, from whom I haven't heard for some time, brings the distressing word "I went into the Peter Bent Brigham for 'observation' March 24 for 3-4 days and never got out until April 12, and 2 weeks early at that. They found a tumor sitting on the right front of my brain. Am still recuperating and go into the hospital for X-ray therapy 'til May 19." Very sorry to hear of Bill's sickness and hope he's feeling much better now; there's been no one more regular in pitching in the Boston Area than Bill.

Society Section: "Colonel and Mrs. Richard Carleton Stickney announce the marriage of their daughter Marion Goddard to Mr. Robert Henkle Reno on Saturday the thirtieth of April." There has also been some slight mention here and there in the public press of your secretary's engagement to Miss Margarita van Dyck of Burlington, Vt There must be something about this job of Class Secretary!

Lucky people who stayed at the Hanover Inn recently: Thomas C. Roberts of Worcester, Mass.; Henry B. Barnet of Albany, N. Y.; B. W. Mallory of New York, N. Y.; Charles T.Main of Boston, Mass.

Latest Changes of Address: Louis M. Freedman Jr., 151 Storer Ave., New Rochelle, N. Y.; Richard A. Gilbert, Apt 10-A, Lewis Village, Greenville, S. C.; Daniel A. Marshall, 50 Central St., Wellesley, Mass. (Rolling Lane, Natick, Mass.—home); Charles R. Perryman, 1785 Country Club Drive, Baton Rouge, La.; H. Thomas A. Richmond, 17 Oriole Ave., Bronxville, N. Y.; Lorin C. Schneider, 16 Manning, Manchester, N. H.

The weekend of the 6th, 7th, and Bth of May I go up to Hanover (at your expense!) for the annual Class Officers' Meeting. Anything of note which occurs will be reported in this space at the earliest opportunity. In spite of the fact reported somewhere above, I shall be in residence in Hanover Center after the first week in July, and any of youse guys who have good news for me can trade it in for hospitality—so much per news item.
