In the heat of exams and enthusiasm over spending the summer in the Grand Tetons of Wyoming as a forest ranger and the next two years as our class's emissary at Oxford in Merrie England, Sonny neglected to mention that someone else would be working on the class notes for the next two years. The job that has been delegated to my keeping is important in that it concerns the only link most of us have with the others of our class since passing from the ranks of Dartmouth undergraduates. The fact that the real worth of the column is dependent on the interest you fellows take in it and the amount you participate in it by writing to the author has been stressed before by Sonny and I'll really only repeat the idea now.
With the summer months drawing to a rapid close, I find myself with a stack of clippings forwarded from Hanover, mostly regarding you fellows who have entered into the bonds of matrimony or contracted for same.
Charley Herterich tied the knot way back in April with Miss Jacqueline Helen Geraghty of Haworth, N. J. They are apparently living in New York while Charley commutes to Yale Law School.
In April, too, Austin Knight was married to Miss Nancy Keiver of Swampscott, Mass. The best man was Dartmouth man Art Carey. They are living in Manchester-by-the-Sea and he is in the fuel and lumber business in Manchester.

The Fourth of July was Dependents Day for Bob Huke when he took Miss Eleanor Havko of Yonkers, N. Y„ as his bride. He received his Master's in geography from Syracuse in June. They are living in Syracuse. Please pardon the pun, Bob; it was irresistible.
Bill Pruden came to Michigan to claim Miss Dorothy Alice Davis as his bride on July si. The Times clipping noted that the happy couple went to Sea Island, Ga., for the honeymoon, but doesn't say where they would reside after that. How about a note with some further information, Bill?

Slated for a July wedding were George MacGillivray and Miss Gloria Inez Manter of Chevy Chase, Md. George and his bride were both about to receive Masters' degrees in Geography from Clark University when last heard from. Hold it! Late flash says that he received his degree and is working as a cartographer for the government in Washington, D. C.
Joe Smith and Miss Helen Ruth Hoyt of Hanover were married by Father Sliney in Hanover on July 1. She will teach in Ridgewood, N. J., while he, as a mathematician with tries to outthink his machines. They are living in Fort Lee, N. J.
Dave Miller, who is now studying at Bellevue College of Medicine, N. Y. U., married Miss Ellen Richardson Wales of Abington; Mass., on July 1. They were engaged while she was an undergraduate at Wheelock College. Apparently they are living somewhere in New York while Dave pores over his medical books. Where, Dave?
In a wedding due to happen last June s. Dick Vernam took Doris Jean Rice of Council Bluffs, lowa, for his bride. Dick's last available address is the YMCA in Council Bluffs. There must have been some change in that, Dick.
Tom Rafferty was due to take the step on June 25 with Miss Claire Marie White of Newton, Mass. according to The BostonHerald. What are the details to some of these thumbnail newspaper sketches, you guys? It sort of leaves me out on a limb trying to figure them out.
For our third July 1 groom, we have JimHudson, who took as his bride Miss Joanne Middleton of Winnetka, 111. The wedding took place at the home of the bride's grandmother in Stonington, Conn. They are due to be living in Boston while Jim completes his studies at B. U. Med. School.

The May 4 edition of the Detroit Free Press has quite a splash regarding Jerry Ludington. It seems that Jerry came out East and surveyed the available pulchritude, found nothing to his liking, and went home to become engaged to the girl next door. At any rate he is now engaged to Miss Dorothy Rich. When is the big day, Jerry?
Warren Kent is planning wedding details with Miss Phyllis Elaine Baruch. Both are suburban Philadelphians. She attended Pine Manor Junior College.

Dick Bennett, who is presently in Dallas with Liberty Mutual Insurance Cos., was betrothed to Miss Joan L. Lichtenberger on August 4. That sure is a long way from NewYork where she's working, Dick. How soon are you going to cut down on the travelling expenses and tie the knot?
Earl Chambers and Miss Ann Elizabeth Keating announced back in June. Earl is with the Central Hanover Bank in New York.
In the late spring (my clippings conflict) the engagement of Richard Thomas Margeson and Miss Barbara Anne Thompson of Hingham, Mass., was announced. She was due to graduate from Wheelock College in June.
Miscellaneous clippings show that GeorgeFifield was commissioned a second lieutenant in the field artillery upon graduation from West Point in June Maurie Witherspoon is now assistant banquet manager at a big Manhattan hotel Ed Ouellette, also in the culinary business in Berlin, N. H., was elected president of the Berlin Junior Chamber of Commerce Sam Katz married Miss Betsy Jane Cohan of Chestnut Hill, Mass., in June. Sam is due to keep on in medicine at Harvard this fall. The strange location of this bit in the miscellany column is due to the fact that it was incidental to an account, in the Mamaroneck (N. Y.) Times, of a Mr. Morrison's return to Harvard in June for his 30th reunion. Well, we don't care how we get the news, just so we get it.
The wife, Jimmy, and I spent three weeks in the East in August on business and vacation. We spent two days in Hanover seeing how much things had changed in our year's absence. Got a look at Johnny and GraceFenno's brand new boy, John Christopher. The stork dropped him at Mary Hitchcock on July 31. The proud father is still juggling the books for the ALUMNI MAGAZINE.
In Boston we had dinner with Dick Greene and tried to map out a program for a more active class. On this subject any ideas from you guys will be more than appreciated. Dick pointed out that the final tally showed that we were rock bottom in the Little Green Derby. Credit and a lot of it goes to Rod Susen and his fellow operatives on the fund campaign for raising the combined participation and objective index 12 percentage points over last year. We are now into another year so let's start now and earmark some money for the fund.
Jack Parker has been working at the Provident Institute for Savings in Boston for some time now.

My material is becoming exhausted and I know that my allotted space is more than filled. We have a common interest as Dartmouth Men. Let's keep it alive through participation in this column. That means we want and need to hear from each and every one of you.
