I hate to start things on a sad note but I know that all the class will be dreadfully sorry to hear of the death of Bob Blum on October 9 in New York. Details will be found elsewhere in this issue.

Ed Leede, former basketball captain at Hanover and pro player for the Boston Celtics for two years is reportedly studying at Harvard Business School and willing to sign a contract only for Celtics home games if at all. He has been on the road with a team that has served as opposition to the Harlem Globe Trotters.

Jack Redden and Miss Harriet Hartmann were married in Springfield, Mass., on October 6. They honeymooned at the Hanover Inn for three days and then continued West to Custer, S. D., where Jack will be working for the U. S. Geological Survey. Jack has a master's in geology from Harvard. Mrs. Redden is an alumna of Moravian College for Women, Bethlehem, Pa., and Katherine Gibbs School, Boston. She was secretary to the Assistant Dean of Harvard Law School.

Received a fine letter from Dick Repko saying that after some tough plowing, he garnered an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School in June. After graduation he headed for Europe, hut is now settled down in New York, working for California Texas Oil Co. His address is 417 West 118 th St.

A letter from John Van Raalte, also of Gotham, carries a comment on his observation of the Big Green team at West Point. He said that they looked pretty good and should make a better account of themselves from now on. By the time this is in print, the season will be history but three straight victories to date bear out his opinions and I hereby nominate him as class football prophet. He is selling securities with an investment banking house in New York and admits that some of his Han- over Eccy is coming in handy.

Dave Walsh wrote in from India a letter that certainly proves the "Round the Girdled Earth" theories. His address is: Finlay House, McLeod Road (P.O. Box 998) Karachi 2, Pakistan. He says:

"I am employed by the American Foreign Insurance Association, an Organization which manages the foreign operations of 24 of the larger American Insurance Companies. At the present time I am managing the Karachi Office of this organization and attempting, in my own small way, to keep chaos out of the order we have established. This can be difficult at . times as you may have gathered from information available in the States.

"For the past couple of years I have been in the East, principally in India and Pakistan and in all probability will remain out here for another year or so. That however, due to rather unpredictable economic and political conditions, is difficult to forecast with any degree of accuracy."

He comments on the temperature being no degrees in the shade at this time of year and says that, according to his calculations, weather in Hanover should be a bit nippy. Anyone in that vicinity is requested to step outside and soak a little of that cool air in for his benefit. It has been two years since he's had the luxury.

Since there are Alumni Fund names to be printed this issue, we are requested to cut things short. Next month we should have a good many address changes.
