As is usual during the summer months, many of our members depart from this area on vacation, but in spite of all that the attendance at our luncheons remained about normal.
On July 5 Bob Pierce '25 gave us a resume of his trip back to Hanover covering the Alumni Council meeting and of course the class reunion. The Club has inaugurated a new feature which should provide added incentive to attend the luncheons. The Program Committee under the able chairman Leo Caproni '42 is arranging for a short talk on some subject of general interest. For the August 2 luncheon AI Bisson '42 gave a very interesting talk on Hemisphere Domination. The subject was so well handled that immediately afterward he was called on to present the same talk before the Downtown Kiwanis Club. Al says that he has discovered talent heretofore unknown.
For the coming fall season the Club has several events of interest on the program. George Bought on '28 has offered the facilities of the Colony Hotel at Delray Beach and we are planning to hold a get-together there sometime in November. We are going to repeat on the football smoker and then there is a basketball game with the U. of Miami in December. Any and all Dartmouth men in this area get in touch with the Club and come to our luncheons held the first Wednesday of every month at the Seven Seas Restaurant, Miami.
