We are delighted to have the acceptance of Walt Magee to act as our reunion chairman for the big doings next June. This gives us an auspicious start, and if the enthusiasm we've sensed so far continues to climb, a large assemblage on the Hanover Plain next June is assured.

Charlie Thompson is an extremely busy physician in Newton Highlands, Mass., and must have some kind of a record for variety of his practice. It ranges from doctoring for the Old Ladies Home in the Lower Falls to Chief Anesthetist at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital, to football team physician, to responsibilities for the boys at the Fessenden Country Day School. In the latter capacity Charlie claims fame as the one called upon to sew up F.D.R. Jr.'s face and currently has the three Baccardi (you know the stuff you put in Coca Cola) boys as patients. Says he's working on a case from each for Christmas, which gives you some idea of the high cost of medical attention. On the sentimental side, you might be interested in knowing that Messrs. Ernie Smith, Dave Reid and Charlie worked on the same cadaver and went through Medical School together. Ernie is practicing in Providence, has four boys ranging from six on down and recently with the Thompsons held a high-level medical conference in one of the upper rooms of the Biltmore. Dave Reid is practicing in Weston. Charlie is married to Johnny Perry's step-niece and has three children, a girl and two boys.

Another M.D., Frank Cline, was in Boston this spring for a medical convention in connection with his work at a Tuberculosis Sanatorium in Washington. Frank continues in the elusive, but diminishing, group of class bachelors.

And speaking of bachelors, this fellow WhitCushing is really living the life of Riley. At the present time in Newton between a summer in Vermont and the trip south for the winter art season. Whit is doing a lot of portraits, and if you are in the vicinity of Westport, Conn, you can see several of his works on exhibit at . "The Paint Bucket," in company with paintings of some famous-name artists. Whit saw Dr. Hal and Jean McGilpen in from Worcester for the Harvard game. Some others at the game were Moose Wyman,Endy Smith, Dusty Rhode, all with spouses. Guess there were some surprises at having seats on the 40-yard line in contrast to previous years' goal line stand.

Over Hingham way, Hank White has just built himself a new home and is now in the process of doing the inside finishing. The Whites have a new baby daughter two months old. During business hours Hank is Metropolitan Boston representative for the Flintkote Co., building materials. Jim Feeley is at the Naval Air Station in Squantum in charge of the Marine Air Detachment. Ed Cummings is living in Quincy. We haven't heard from Buddy McLaughlin in a long time, but Hank has seen him in Boston where he is selling for Glenmore Distilleries. Jack Bates is with Gulf Oil in Boston and living out in Lexington.

While trying to sort out a couple of children at the close of Sunday School recently, I found Eb Reynolds doing the same thing. Eb is living in Newton Lower Falls and is the general manager for Thompson, a chain of Boston restaurants. It is interesting to note that this old established business has been having a good deal of difficulties during recent years, but under Eb's guidance has made a very fine comeback.

Bill Buckley is back at his home in Needham and his job with the Claims Section of Liberty Mutual, after a year in the Army. Bill was called up soon after trouble started in Korea, and spent a year with counter-intelligence located in Baltimore. He was fortunate enough to make the Yale game this year and had the chance to see Tom Burrell, BobMacLeod, Dusty Rhode and Hank Britton. By the time you get this you'll undoubtedly have had a complete report on Yale game festivities from Bert MacMannis in '59 Out.

News from Harry Kersey in Chattanooga, where he has recently assumed the chores of Director-Manager of the Chattanooga Little Theatre.

A note from Karl Sax reports that after 11 years of wandering around with Dupont and American Cyanamid he is back in school as a graduate student at Yale in quest of a Ph.D. in the Department of Chemistry.

Johnny Mitchell is living in Natick, Mass., and engaged in the machinery business in Boston. Sees Gordy King quite often, who is living in Millis and engaged in the shoe business in Brockton.... Bob Whitcomb is personnel director of the United Shoe Company in Boston... . Walter Leach, who was with us for about a year and a half, is production planning manager for Carters Manufacturing Co., in Needham.

Wedding Bells can be heard in the distance for Sam Hird who has become engaged to Harriet Jane Dalton of New York, formerly of Ridgewood, N. J.

That's all men. we're at the bottom of the barrel, absolutely. So see you next month, and remember to plan for the Big Fifteenth next June. Merry Christmas!!
