Labor Day week-end in Connecticut is dark, cold and dismal. The kind of weather that forces even the most procrastinating of class secretaries to remain inside, buckle down with the summer's accumulation of news, and send something up to Hanover for the October issue. Our oldest child Judy received a record player on her fourth birthday today, so if a few passages from the "Teddy Bear's Picnic" are included don't get excited, some vital news about one of your old buddies will follow.

Earlier this summer Bozo Noland was elected president of the Noland Company in Newport News, Va. Through its 24 branches in the Southeast, his firm is the largest supplier of electrical, plumbing and industrial equipment in that part of the country. In addition Bozo has interests in the hotel and banking business in Richmond.

Johnny Steele was one of 12 American newspapermen to receive a Nieman Fellowship award for a year's study at Harvard University. In Houston, Roge Stanwood has shifted from Tide Water Associated Oil Co. to Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Corp. as assistant to the vice-president in charge of gas supply. Walt Leach has been appointed production planning manager of the William Carter Co. in Needham, Mass. If any of the class feels he needs a raise, would suggest you read BudGriswold's article on the management of salary raises under recent Wage Stabilization Board rulings, in the August issue of the Journal of Accountancy. Since that is one of the magazines my wife does not subscribe to, I haven't read it, but would be sure Bud had some good angles. Out in Cleveland, BobWarner got his picture in the paper as assistant administrator of the Cleveland Regional Blood Program of the American Red Cross, but have no further information on Bob's activities in Cleveland.

In April Henry Glovsky, after a slam bang campaign, was elected to the State House of Representatives from the Beverly, Mass., district. Hank has been practicing law in Beverly since he got out of the army, and lives with his wife and two sons at 15 Columbia Rd. Lawyer Bill Green has resigned as deputy attorney-general for the State of New Hampshire to go into private practice with the Manchester law firm of Sheehan, Phinney & Bass.
