The parents of Margaret Allis Hewitt of Milwaukee have announced her engagement to Edmund Francis Leland 3rd. Miss Hewitt was graduated last year from Wheaton. Fran 3rd attended Holderness School and Brown University and is a veteran of four years of Service in the USAAF as a lieutenant. The wedding is scheduled for early summer.
Congratulations to Duke Vosburgh upon his recent election as a vice-president of Union Securities Corp. The new vice-president is manager of his company's Hartford office.
Congratulations, also, to Alden James, director of advertising and public relations for P. Lorillard Company, upon his election as a director of that company.
And congratulations to Norm Crane upon his appointment for a five-year term to the Plainfield (N. J.) Board of Health. Norm attended Columbia Medical School and has specialized in pediatrics. His practice was interrupted by four years of service in the Army Medical Corps from which he was disckarged in 1946 with the rank of lieutenant colonel. Presently Norm is senior attending pediatrician at Muhlenberg Hospital, consulting pediatrician at Somerset Hospital, a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatricians, a member of the Plainfield and New Jersey Medical Societies and of the Plainfield Physicians Club. Norm and Marian, with their daughters Joan and Shirley, live at 1025 Sleepy Hollow Lane, Plainfield.
This is the issue in which the Alumni Fund Report is presented and the list of 1922 contributors headed by a resume of our 1949 achievement follows these notes. Our record in the last campaign was a good one but Stan thinks we should better it this year and I do, too. If enthusiasm, energy and hard work on the part of a class agent is the determining factor we will lead the field. I suspect we little realize the time that Stan devotes to this job we have given him to do. His only reward is the success of the campaign. Let's not take the chance that he will go unrewarded through the failure of any one of us to give liberally.
