Readers of this column will recall that classmate Austin is the owner o£ a snake-eating hen. He calls the hen "Old Katy." Here is the latest about Austin's wonderful hen. He says she is now advertising Ward's Bread. This is his story. "Yesterday within a time period of five minutes, 'Katy' performed 5214 jumps of 3 ft. each and caught in the air 52 pieces of 31/2 slices of Ward's Tip Top restaurant bread, each slice was 4" x 4" and \/z" thick. Vitamins 55%, reinforced with 40% iron. The remaining 5% consisted of interstices which she swallowed as a bonus. I am thinking of tying 'Katy' to the handle of my pump so when she comes down from each jump she will pump up 1/2 pint of water. 52 half pints twice a day will give me all the water I need for kitchen and laundry. Looked at from a different standpoint in eating the 31/4 slices of bread, 'Katy' actually jumped a distance of 1571/2 feet and this up in the air vertically. If 'Katy' were attached to a town clock as a weight, she would self-wind the clock for eight days with an extra jump for Leap Year."

Of course "Old Katy's" master will be coming to our 55th Reunion within a few weeks. He has not yet definitely promised to come, but Mrs. Austin and daughter Maud will, in all probability, come and "Old Katy," the educated hen, ought to be able to live all summer on snakes and Wards bread.

The reunion is set down for June 9-11. Saturday, the 10th, the Class dinner at the Stevens home in Hartford will be served at six o'clock P.M. It will be prepared and served by the best cooks and waitresses in Hartford.

"H. Dan" Watson will be the post-prandial attraction, followed by group singing and instrumental music during a long and lively period after the sun has dropped behind the Vermont hills. Of course it is possible that "Old Hen Katy" may give a late afternoon performance at her master's biddying.

Get out your musical instruments and bring them along.
