We Hoosiers have had a busy summer and fall, Dartmouthwise, with more activities planned. Our annual Dartmouth-Princeton picnic in July attracted about go rain-soaked guys and. dolls, and we credit a wet ball for our 5-4 softball loss, contested bitterly, of course, when a drunken guest of a Princeton alumnus drove in the winning run.
Alex Thomson 'gi had his yearly fall tag on September 14, which is given each year prior to the opening of school. Fos Clippinger '39, just returned from Japan, gave us an interesting account of his five years in the Far East since the war. We started a touch football game but 6-foot 6-inches Bob Myers '44 proved too tall and shifty for the fagged opposition, as well as his own team mates. The Dartmouth-Cornell football get-together, with direct radio broadcast, is being scheduled for noon, November 17, at the Merchants National Bank Building, courtesy Bob Sweeney '34.
Alumni who have attended recent meetings include John Mann '94, Doc Kelly '97, William Blanchard '18, Alex Thomson '21, Reuben Winchester '23, Rudolph Haerle '24, David Rubins '24, Vin Meyer '26, John Clarke '31, Gordon Derby '31, Garvin Dalglish '30, Blaine Miller '31, Hank Kingdom '32, Hank Peirce '34, Bob Sweeney '34, George Forbes '34, Bernard Loveman '34, Herb Knowles '35, Jack Davis '36, Ed Eaton '37, Bill McMurtrie '38, Lew Williams '38, Fos Clippinger '39, Greek Mahoney '40, John Peacock '40, Walt Kuhn '41, Ken Jones '42, Ted Locke '42, Jack Holliday '43, Bob Myers '44, Jim Murray '45, Perry Lesh '46, and Andy Pelham '51.
