At the time of this writing the Board of Governors of the Northern New Jersey Alumni Association has completed the final arrangements for our first dinner meeting of the current year. Eddie Jeremiah '30 will be our guest speaker from Hanover. Those who have heard Eddie talk before know that they will be in for a relaxing and pleasant treat.
Notices were sent out in October to the bulk of Dartmouth alumni in our area setting forth our program for the year, with the hope of increasing our active membership in the organization. In order to succeed in our ambitious enrolment program we need the support of as many local alumni as possible.
In the first few weeks of our campaign, the response by way of dues has been encouraging, but there are a great many alumni whose support we still need if we are to build our enrolment program to the point that it will show substantial benefit to the College in directing the finest candidates toward admission to Dartmouth.
If any alumni living in Northern New Jersey have not, for one reason or another, received our invitation to become actively enrolled in our Association, we would appreciate it if they would get in touch with the secretary. Our two-dollars dues are used solely to pay for overhead expenses of printing and mailing, and, even more important, to finance our enrolment program and the May reception for successful candidates for admission to Dartmouth, and their parents.
For the benefit of those who are new to our area the following is a list of the officers and Board of Governors of our Association. If you have any questions regarding the Association and its program please contact any one of them:
Albert E. Zinggeler '32, president; William L. Hoffmann '36, vice-president; Herbert C. Englert '42, secretary; Richard W. Baldwin '42, treasurer; W. Scott Van Derbeck '30, arrangements chairman; Louis V. Wilcox 23, enrollment chairman; James Leßoy Lafferty '15, publicity chairman; S. A. Perkins '21, interviewing chairman; Edward J. Foley, Jr., '33; William F. Blanchard '30; Edward W. Kast '41; Harry V. Osborne Jr. '33; Karl W. Koeniger '17; George M. Rounds Jr. '42; Robert Fendrich '32; Robert L. Dickson '33; and E. William Dey Jr. '50.
As this letter will be published in December I want to extend, on behalf of the Association, holiday greetings and best wishes to all.
