April 3 will be a date long remembered by many of the Dartmouth alumni and their friends, in this area. This was the night that the Dartmouth Glee Club gave its concert in Montclair, under the joint sponsorship of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Northern New Jersey and the Boy Scout Mothers of Montclair. Performing before a sellout audience, the Glee Club gave a marvelous show that was enjoyed by all present. Judging from the size of the audience, the number of encores demanded, and the enthusiastic comments overheard, we have no doubt that the affair was a great success.
Our thanks go to Ren Grevatt '43. Ren planned the concert, arranged for the co-sponsors, and, with their help, organized and publicized the whole affair. Thanks also to BudFrench '30 and his wife for taking on the job of promotion and ticket-selling. Finally, our thanks to Paul Zeller and his wonderful group of singers; the College and its alumni can be very proud of them.
Plans are now being made for the last two events on this year's calendar. In the handining of May our annual reception for accepted freshmen and their parents will be held. All accepted candidates for the new Dartmouth class and their parents will be invited to attend an informal reception given in their honor. The purpose of this affair is to further acquaint them with the College and with some of the local alumni. Films are shown, questions answered, and refreshments served. This has become an annual event of our organization and we feel that it is an important and worthwhile one.
Don't forget to bring the whole family to our annual picnic to be held early in June. Details will be sent out later.
