Have been hoping for some good news from Fort Plain, N. Y., regarding "Shorty" Bowers' condition, but no word has come at this writing early in January.
A good letter from McKay tells of the celebration of his Both birthday last October. Nearly all of his numerous family were there. "Mac" plans his annual winter golfing trip to Miami early in March. He missed the Dartmouth-Cornell football game last fall for the first time in 30 years. Driving was too bad about that time.
"Sam" Hunt had bad luck and "took a tumble, in the dark, down the front stairs." He hurt his arm and bumped his head which, for a while, caused him trouble in dressing and undressing. He is recuperating nicely.
"Jon" Child, as usual, spent the past summer with his daughter and sister at their ancestral home at East Thetford, Vt. He visitedHanover often, attending the weekly Wednesday meetings of Rotary at the Outing Club.He reports trouble with his legs so that hisdriving was cut down. Luckily, daughterMarjorie was able to take over when necessary. A new television set augmented theirsummer enjoyment.
Dr. "Billy" Redenbaugh has written under date December 15 that he was leaving his summer home at Friday Harbor, Wash., in about a week, for Las Vegas, Nev., where he will spend the winter with his daughter Dorothy Dartmouth. He enclosed a clipping from the Friday Harbor Journal telling of a reunion last August of three Dartmouth men in the most northwestern corner of the United States. They were Dr. Redenbaugh '93, G. E. Woodward '04 and R. B. Smith '04. The place of meeting, Friday Harbor, was within sight of Victoria, B.C. The clipping also told of "Billy's" receiving the Phi Delta Theta Golden Legion Certificate as a member of the fraternity for more than 50 years.
