By the time these notes are in your hands our twenty-fifth reunion will be but two months away from a reality. And the week end of June 15-17 bids fair to be the most memorable one in our lifetimes. The plans are now almost completed and we don't see how anyone will be able to register a "squawk." Around the first week in April the complete program will be in your hands and early in May the College will send out the reservation cards for rooms. We'll hope to see you all.
To date we have received definite commitments for reunion from the following: Al andEllen Louer; Doug and Helen Everett and Ted and Jean; Hugh and Elizabeth Morrison and daughters Mary and Linda; Bob and DotSalinger with Dick and Barbara; Sonny andBetty Tilton with Tony and Ann; Gib andAlice Robinson; Dick and Mayflora Major with Richard 3rd and Elaine; Carl Schipper;Charlie and Jess Jost with Jean and Chas. This is really beginning to shape up as a grand family party. There will be doings at all times for all age groups. Your name should be on the list right nowand bring the family for the best vacation ever. Last week your errant scribe made a oneday business trip to Boston on behalf of a client. Arriving early in the morning, and having completed the business by about 2 P.M., I found about three hours on my hands before my plane left for the return trip. So I found a telephone in the Statler and made a flock of calls, in hopes that at least one '26er would be able to spend an hour or so with me whiling away the time. Bob Salinger was in court and was unavailable until about 5 P.M. per his secretary. Don Norstrand (I even walked over to Kennedy's to see him in the snow) was eventually located but was busy with year-end figures and had had lunch with Hal Trefethen on the subject of the Class Fund. Hal was all tied up at the National Shawmut Bank; HalMarshall was out of his office, apparently working; Steiu Orr was all wrapped up with a client at the State Street Trust. About that time I ran out of nickels and retired to the bar to drink alone until the airport limousine arrived. I did find out, though, that the Norstrands and both of the Trefethens will be on hand for reunion. I do suggest, however, that anyone planning to drop into Boston should notify that contingent beforehand if he expects a free drink.
Wah-Hoo-Wah Dept. We have just learned of the recent promotions of Henry L. (Hank)Parker and Horace M. (Mad) Moderwell to the respective positions of Asst. Vice-President and Asst. Secretary of the Harris Trust and Savings Bank in Chicago. Congratulations! Only why didn't they, or Warren Fellingham, tell us about this sooner?
James E. (Jim) Traquair, the Comptroller and Asst. Treasurer of the Hospital Care Corp. in Cincinnati, has been appointed to conduct a course in office management at the Univer- sity of Cincinnati Evening College, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer of January 16. The Boston Evening Globe of January 29 calls attention to the fact that Dr. Sylvester(Syl) McGinn has been elected a director of the Massachusetts Heart Association.
Courtney C. Brown, assistant manager of the coordination and economics department of Standard Oil Cos. (New Jersey), has been advanced to the newly created post of assistant to Frank W. Abrams, board chairman, effective March 1, according to the N. Y. HeraldTribune of February 20.
As you are aware from the bulletins you have received from Bob Stopford 3.nAAI Louer, our class combined fund has reached the half way mark as of the end of February. However, a lot of people have not yet been heard from and it behooves each of us to get behind Bob and A 1 and do our part. Remember, the combined fund includes both our class gift and the Alumni Fund for this year, so why wait longer? Time is of the essence now.
The Alumni Records office seems to have lost track of one of our members—Garry Garretson. If any of you know of his whereabouts, will you please contact your secretary?
Remember to plan for that June 15-17 weekend and be on hand with all the gang for that "terrific twenty-fifth" the one reunion that no one can afford to miss and everyone can afford to attend. See you!
