The Class President and Secretary sent a personal letter of thanks to those who contributed Memorial gifts to the Alumni Fund. For the tenth consecutive year such gifts have put '86 way out in front of all the other classes in the participation index. The untiring efforts of Billie Newton to keep the class feeling alive, even after members have departed, have accomplished this, to the satisfaction of the givers, who have thus found a way to express their devotion to the College.

On the occasion of Billie's 89th birthday he received the following telegram of appreciation: "Sincere greetings to a Dartmouth alumnus, mature in years, youthful in spirit and rich in good deeds and kindly feeling toward all his fellow men. May your days continue to be filled with the joy of living and doing. (Signed) Sheridan Baketel '95."

The members of the Class at present writing are living quietly and apparently "out of danger." Miss Richmond, the secretary's assistant, has moved to Portland, Me., Eastland Hotel.
