Walter Page Weston and Family

Walter was born in Lynn, Mass., April 13, 1874. Soon after graduation he was employed by George A. Fernald and Company of Boston, a well known and highly regarded bond house. Walter advanced rapidly and became head of the sales department and Investigator of Properties.

In 1901 he married Mary A. Baldwin, a graduate of Wellesley, class of 1898, and they bought a home at 57 Lindell Street, Danvers, where their four children were born. Mrs. Weston and their son Stephen still live in the family home.

Walter lost his life in an automobile accident in Springfield, November 1, 1912, leaving his wife with four small children to rear.

Although Walter had been out of College but 16 years and was only 38 years old he had provided well for his family. Mrs. Weston's brother Dr. Frederick Baldwin took a fatherly interest in the family and helped out, especially when all four children were in college at the same time.

At the time of his death he had plans made for an Investment Firm of his own. He was a keen business man and probably would have gone far. We can give class Oscars to Walter and to Phil Young for outstanding success in the bond business.

Mrs. Weston has been very active in local affairs but advancing years and a tired heart have curtailed her activities somewhat. She has a fond regard for Dartmouth and has carefully preserved several of our group pictures.

Stephen P. Weston '26 is a lawyer with offices at 112 Water Street, Boston, associated with a group of attorneys including Clement J. Redmond, formerly an associate of Carl Richardson. Stephen lives with his mother. He owns a home on the shore in Marblehead where he and his mother spend several months in the summer. Stephen has not married.

Elizabeth, two years younger than Stephen, is now Mrs. Paul Bunker. Mr. Bunker is an advertising executive with the Foxboro Company. They live in South Walpole, Mass., where they have a pleasant home and a garden in which they enjoy working. Paul has been head of the local Parent Teacher's Association for several years. Elizabeth contributes the Walpole column to the Foxboro Reporter each week. They have two children, Prudence Alden, age 12, and Paul Baldwin, age 9. A few years ago the son was afflicted with polio but is making a good comeback.

Louise, three years younger than Stephen, is Mrs. Samuel MacMillen Davis. They live in Hartford, Conn. Samuel is a member of the Connecticut Art Association, and has achieved recognition for water colors and oil paintings. Louise is active in community affairs. They have two daughters, Pamela Baldwin, age 9, and Sara, age 4.

Constance was born shortly after her father's untimely death. She is married to John D. Woodberry, a patent attorney practicing in Boston. They live in Danvers near the family 'home. John was in charge of a P.T. boat during World War II. They have two children, Dane, age 11, and Stephanie, age 9. John and Constance have many friends and interests in Danvers.

Your Secretary is happy to present this brief story of a fine and successful classmate and an outstanding family.
