What with the return of Kukla, Fran and Ollie to TV, the World Series and weekly wagerings on the outcome of the pigskin prowess of the Big Green, this collection of class outings and innings for the summer season may pass unnoticed till the first cold days of winter. Regardless of the Hooper Rating, however, the editorial talents (?) of your scribe again hold sway, a little further from the back this year, and all who desire their funny bones tickled are directed to more humorous authors. For those interested in Fifty's Foibles of Heart, read on!

The Hitching Post

Somehow unrecorded previously in this journal is the April 12 wedding of Bob Gray and Barbara Ann Hilliard of Framingham, Mass., and a graduate of Katherine Gibbs school in Beantown. Following a jaunt to Bermuda, Bob got back to work with Lofstedt, Inc., Furniture Studio of Worcester, where the couple currently toasts its marshmallows.

Marie Pickering Locour of Chester, N. J., became Sgt. Park Taylor's commanding officer in a ceremony at Gladstone, N. J., May 9. Being a Colby Junior alumna, she probably has access to the history of past capers of Park even though they headed for a new home 'way down in Augusta, Ga.

Kindly forwarded by his folks at home is the news of Joe Ely's nuptials with Carolyn Desmond of Richmond Hill, N. Y., in Munich, Germany, on May 17. A honeymoon in Southern Europe preceded the return to the Mecca of Malt Beverages where both toil for Uncle.

May 24 was the date for Emil Hudak and Carol Ann Hussey in Rochester, N. Y. Home now is in Jersey City.

Togatowner Dana Jane Davis and Bill Ferguson were married the last day of May in the Old Stone Church in East Haven, Conn. The new Ferguson household is conveniently located for post-Yale game parties.

Heading the list of nine weddings in the favorite month of Dan Cupid was the Northampton ceremony knotting Russ Chase and Jacqueline Marcelete Jordan, a Smithie, as if you couldn't guess. The prexy of Russell D. Chase, Inc. of Springfield, Mass., called in Wally Willett, of whom you'll hear more later, Jim Martel and Jim Nye to help do the ushering.

Two more braves bit the dust the following-Saturday, June 14, around the Boston area. At eight bells in the afternoon Webb Gault married Meredith King, a grad of Briarcliffe J. C. from Quincy. Charlie Dewey was best man and Ted Hamburger cleared the aisles. Webb and Merry are residing in Falls Church, Va., after a wedding journey to Bermuda. Half an hour later in her Newton home, Barbara Gay Dunmore became the bride of Steve Johnson. SteveFlemer provided aid and comfort for the groom who has done grad work at New York State Teachers College. Barbara claims Westbrook Junior College for her alma mater.

Altar-cations jumped 100% the following weekend with a brace in Massachusetts and two more located in New Jersey. In Swampscott Danny Olsen took the big step with Beverly Ann Bartlett of Marblehead and also down the road a piece from CJC. Dick Kirkwood, was best man, with Johnny Norton and Charlie Wilkinson also in the party. Meanwhile in Milton, Per-Jan Ranhoff and Anne Rollins were wed. Mrs. Ranhoff is a graduate of Milton Academy and the Children's Hospital School of Nursing.

Ben Shaver and Justine Marie Davey of West Caldwell, N. J., walked down the aisle about the same time. Phil Hoadley did the job as groom's number one aid in that ceremony. Second Looie Fran Austin of Uncle's Army married Angeline Elsie Fleming in Princeton that afternoon. Mrs. Austin, an alumna of Miss Fine's School, also attended the Parsons School of Design in New York.

On June 28 Pete Holmes took Betsy King of Cleveland Heights as his bride. Betsy is a Vassar graduate.

Final June nuptials concern Don Cummings and Patricia Rowe Patton of Medina, Ohio. Patty attended Lake Erie College and is a grad of the Boston Katy Gibbs school. Don's working for the Justice Department in Washington and was in the Windy City, where his bride resided last spring.

Three Fourth of July weekend affairs wind up this department for the month. From New Jersey came a clipping of a beaming couple, the aforementioned Wallace D. Willett and his newly won spouse Joan Kneeland of Interlaken. She's a graduate of Southern Seminary and Smith while hubby brings home the bacon from Linde Air Products of Philly.

Deerfield, Mass., was the scene o£ DonFreund's marriage to Priscilla Deane. Don is a student at Temple Med School and Priscilla is a yes, you're right again another one of those Smith gals. Also on July 5, this time in Woodbridge, Conn., one more femme from Rahar-town joined the family. Hester Vanneman Goodenough became a Navy wife to Johnny Caldwell. Hepper and the Olympic schuss-boomer were seen this summer cavorting at Virginia Beach with the Chilton (APA}B) wardroomers prior to Johnny's departure for the "Main Brace" cruise to Europe. We'll save a few more items of this nature together with the list of engagements which may turn into weddings before next time in order to take a look at the younger generation.

Rattle Prattle

It was a sister for the two-year-old lad of Ann and Curt Kimball on May 17. Debbie, 6 pounds and 2 ounces then, told her mom to be sure she got a plug in for the old man's pianos which are still available to his fellow Illini residents.

For Lt. Rick and Eileen Miller it was also potential Queen of the Snows, Kathleen Edith. This miss weighed in at 7 pounds, 8 ounces, May 27, and will be glad to know Rick should be home from Pusan very soon.

A check dated June 18 drawn on an Ithaca, N. Y., bank was made out for six-and-a-quarter pounds of Holly Jones Oliver. Parents Andy and Mary set a conservative value of "priceless" on their offspring.

A neat sky-blue ribbon tied up the glad tidings for Bruce Rogal and his better half as they forgot about firecrackers and concentrated on the more interesting Kim Chait Rogal added to their family.

Most impressive is the cognomen hung on Dick and Theckla LacLyard's July present from Mr. Stork. The new papoose: George Strawbridge Ledyard IV.

And finally out in the State of Washington a similarly well-titled youngster JeffersonDartmouth Frederick decided to take up living with Barb and Stan. Congratulations to all you happy folks!

Inkadental Intelligentz

Ihe joyous tidings of the last paragraph above came from pen-pal Jim Jones, who elaborated that Stan is working for "Merrill at al in Seattle," and went on to summarize his existence .. . still selling insurance, still broke and still single!

Hanover Inn-dians in April included DonAyres and Lt. Bill "You-KNOW-I'm-from-Hartford!" Wallace.. .. The next month it was Bob Jordan, Rog Simmons and Harryfoster whose post card later said, "I am pulling a fast one on these Enoch Pratt Free Library folk and going to France for two months, sailing July 11 on the Liberte." Junior Officer's Mess

Still searching for a title for this area of activity, we haven't heard of any real brass in the tepee, so the interim heading applies. In the blue-and-gold section, Bob "Crash" Mcllwain sneaks in as latest addition from the Navy OCS at Newport... . Ens. Dick Hollands has moved from school at Monterey, Calif., to NAS San Francisco.... Lt. jg. Bud McDonald finally got back to the East Coast, now rides the USS Tanner (AGS-i;).... Apparently in no hurry for "out" is Lt. jg. Bill Williams who has signed up for sub duty and is learning undersea tactics at New London.. .. Back to active duty has gone Lt. jg. Dick Wallace. The ship is Nespelen (AOG-55).... Had a call but missed seeing Lt. jg. George Woodwell, USSAlbany (CA-123). ... But deal of the group is Lt. jg. Lew Boyd's address: Office of Naval Procurement, Macon, Ga. All FPO's, New York, except as noted.

Looks like we'll have to catch the rest while we're at the polls next month. Hope we see you all at a few Big Green tilts this fall.
