The job of chasing lost alumni is stupendous, but I doubt if any college in the country can produce anyone to compare with Charlotte Ford, at the Alumni Records Office. Every little while I am amazed at the success of her seemingly hopeless detective work, of which the following two items are an example.

For years Demetrius Kehayas has been among the missing and many of us had given up hope of ever finding him. Now, through Miss Ford's efforts he has been located in Franklin, Mass., where he has lived with his wife and daughter since 1924. After leaving Dartmouth, he went back to Greece for family reasons and returned to the United States after World War I in 1920. His present address is c/o Jimmie's Package Store, 135 E. Central Street, Franklin, Mass. Demetrius writes that he feels obligated to Dartmouth for the help he received the one year there. Why not drop in to see him if any of you are in Franklin?

George Convery has also been lost for years. He originally came from Albany, N. Y., and a recent inquiry, the first answered in years, returned with the notation, "George F. Convery died in New York City, May 15, 1950." As there is no reason for doubting the correctness of this statement we will have to accept it, and another name is added to the list of our departed classmates. There is absolutely no other information available.

On September 15, Herb Austin, immediate past secretary of the New England District o£ Kiwanis International, was the speaker at the Weymouth (Mass.) Rotary Club. Herb really did an outstanding job in discussing the work of service clubs in general and of Kiwanis in particular. The writer has heard many comments regarding his talk.

Had a short talk with Roger Rice recently on the phone. Roger had a successful summer at Boothbay Harbor and was pleased to report that both Lize Wheelock and Bert Symonds had dropped in to see him during the summer, but was disappointed that there were no other '14ers on the list.

It is a pleasure this month to offer a picture of Bino Knight. We are not positive of the title, but believe that Bino is Superintendent of the New England Presbytery. Bino once told me, when asked what his job really was, that it was that of a bishop in those churches which have bishops. In any case, we have heard glowing reports of his work from many sources, the last being from Elizabeth, N. J.

More sad news came recently, when it was learned that Larry Kingman and Clara had lost their son Donald in an air crash. I have not seen Larry, as yet, but I believe that Donald had graduated from and was in the Air Force on August 24 when the accident occurred. Clara and Larry have the ut- most and deep-felt sympathy of the class in their bereavement. We also understand that son Philip had a bad fall around the same time and was severely injured. I hope to see both of them in, the near future.

August visitors to Hanover included Rudyand Mrs. VonLenz, of New Rochelle, N. Y., and Everett and Mrs. Barnard of West Medford.

From the Sunday Herald, September 26, "Off to college is Antonia Colby, debutante daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Fletcher H. Colby of Newton Center, who is a freshman at Smith. She was graduated last June from the Winsor School and was presented at a dinner given by her parents before one of the June debutante dances."

Paul Howe may now be reached at 431 Wabash Bldg., Pittsburg 22, Pa.

You all recently received a letter via Charlie Batchelder from the class officers, regarding memorials in the Baker Library to departed classmates. Have you given some thought to it? A few checks are dribbling in, the latest being from Switzerland. Is there anyone in the class who has died and who meant enough to you to merit ten dollars for a book, to be placed in the Treasure Roomas a permanent memorial? If so, CharlieBatchelder or I will be glad to hear from you.
