From England, from California,, from Washington, from Hanover, and from points in between, comes this month's news brought to you by the Famous Class of 1914 (apologies to Lowell Thomas). Pres Buck's questionnaire (2nd edition) is bringing in more responses from far and near. Gov Foss reports from London, where he is United Kingdom Construction Manager for E. B. Badger & Sons, Ltd. Expects to return state-side in the spring. Joe Gridley is still making sure that the travelers via Southern Pacific are well fed. Jack Harris has retired from Dewey & Almy, moved to 363 Central St., Framingham, Mass., and is keeping busy as an industrial accounting consultant and playmate for eight grandchildren. Rufe Sisson has retired, but that merely means that he directs his attention towards other matters than the Racquette River Paper Co. which has been sold, as was reported previously. As a trustee of Clarkson College of Technology, Vermont Academy, and with interests in local activities, Rufe will not allow time to hang heavy on his hands.

Hadley Cole is now located at Orleans on Cape Cod where he would welcome any classmates who are visiting that very pleasant part of the country. Frank Welsh lives at 2605 Country Club Terrace, Rockford, Ill. Sounds suspiciously like living alongside a golf course. Wonder if Frank can still play in the 70's as his former teammate Luke Giles does. WinWebber sends in questionnaire from Washington, D. C., apparently about to take off for Florida. Tells about playing tennis against some of the top-flight players of younger years and winning! Art Dearing is executive secretary of the College of American Pathology and is located at 203 N. Wabash Ave., Chicago. Having retired from the Navy his chief avocation is work, according to his comments.

How many of you know that Fred Davidson is president of the New Rochelle (N. Y.) Board of Education; that Chet Barrows is the chairman of the Department of History at Adelphi College, Garden City, N. Y., where he has been teaching since 1925; that Taylor Papson is an active member of the SPEBSQS, which decoded, means the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America; that RalphWoodman lives in Milford, N. H., and is a probation officer for the State of New Hampshire, with offices in Nashua?

Snow flurries greeted those attending Nary's famous pre-game buffet on October 22, but they did not last long nor did they discourage a goodly turnout. The '14ers who came within sight were Nichols, Remsen, Sisson, PaulSmith and Aborn. Nary and Marian were their usual genial selves and provided food and drink (maybe the order should be reversed) in their usual bounteous manner. At the game Jim and Adele Gregg sat near us, and others reported.to be present were Flanders,Larmon, Hazen, Main and SoutherMead. Heard that Johnny Plane had just got home from the hospital so went to see him Sunday morning and had a fine visit. He was very much on the mend, had entertained the evening before, and still had his usual ebullient enthusiasm. By the time you read this he will be back in circulation. The game was excellent from the spectators' point of view, as the teams kept everyone in doubt of the outcome. The vociferous pealing of the chapel bells was indicative of the joy felt by everyone at the outcome.

' The Sunday Magazine of October 30 had a good picture of Mart Remsen helping Bill Cunningham hold the "Texan of Distinction" Award for 1955.

I regret to have to report the death of GilbertPattillo on October 13. He had been ill since June, had undergone an operation for his eyesight, and had moved to a nursing home in Newburyport, Mass., where he died. Sherm Saltmarsh with whom Pat frequently went fishing, represented the class at the funeral.
