PLAN NOW FOR '07'S 45TH
The marriage of John Stevens Kenyon, son of our classmate Bob, to Margaret Mary son, was celebrated on November 25 in Cohasset, Mass.
The marriage of Natalie Cutler Plummer, daughter of Tod and Mrs. Plummer, to Capt. Van Harvey English, took place on November 17 in Wellesley, Mass. The bride's attendants were Mrs. Gordon C. Plummer, her sister-inlaw, and Miss Suzanne T. Pierce, daughter of classmate Cully Pierce. Gordon Plummer was an usher. Capt. English was graduated from Colorado State College and received a doctorate from Clark University. He is on leave from Dartmouth College where he is Professor of Geography. He is currently associated with the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff of the Intelligence Service in Washington, D. C. Capt. English and his bride plan to make their permanent home in Hanover upon termination of his government service.
Ben Washburn reports the recent death in Omaha of Olive Kelly, widow of our classmate Harry Kelly. As recently reported in this column, Mrs. Kelly maintained her interest in Harry's class following his death and expressed a desire to keep in touch with its affairs.
Classmates will be glad to know that contributions to the Samuel L. Barnes Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund continue to be made, principally by northwestern alumni.
A small but very enjoyable reunion with Class President Jim O'Neill, eminent professor and lecturer, was attended by Smart,Woodworth, Niles and Lane in early December. The occasion was Jim's visit to Boston to meet a lecture engagement. Jim reported his prospective retirement next June from his responsibilities at Brooklyn College. He expects, however, to continue lecturing and writing. Those present are definitely planning to return for '07's 45th.
Dick Southgate writes, "I played golf once too often this fall and have been entertaining my old pal phlebitis. Not bad, just a nuisance. This is not for publication. Might affect truce deliberations." Dick is expected to be himself long before '07's 45th.
Jim Brown departed from balmy New England on or about December 6—destination Winter Park, Fla. Jim has not been in the best of health during recent months and expects to remain in Florida throughout most of the winter.
