One of 1930's remaining handful of bachelors left those hallowed ranks on February 23 when Thomas May Peirce 111 was married at the Overbrook Presbyterian Church, in a noon ceremony, to Elsa Marie Strobacker, the daughter of Mrs. Konrad Strobacker of Philadelphia. The wedding provided not only a festive occasion but a miniature 1930 reunion, as those present included Mildred and EdSchuster, Betty and Brooke Willis, Kathleen and Harry Dunning and Ed Carroll. After the wedding the Thirtymen (exclusive of the bride and groom) and their wives went out to the Dunnings' delightful home in Moylan to continue the reunion.. .. While in the department of vital statistics, Dr. Gene Scadron belatedly sent us the information concerning the birth of his second son, Joshua Dane, on April 13, 1951, as well as a plaintive appeal that he would appreciate information from anyone on how one goes about getting girl babies.
George "Pebble" Stone is looking forward to July of 1952 as the time when he will be released from his second "hitch" with the Navy. It was only the week after Korea that he was recalled by the Navy for two years of additional duty, and then almost immediately loaned to the Army because the Army had no reserves in his specialty.. . . Editor Charlie Widmayer, of the ALUMNI MAGAZINE, was elected as the new Chairman of the New England District of American College Public Relations Association at a meeting in Northampton late in January. The McFarland family enjoyed a week of skiing (the children skiing and Mother and Dad furnishing the sideline encouragement) at the Keenes' in Etna the week of Washington's Birthday and were fortunate enough to arrive late one Sunday night just before the heaviest snowfall to hit Hanover and its environs in over five years stalled everything for the next 24 hours. To add to the unexcelled hospitality of Louise and Bob Keene, we had the pleasure of a visit from Maggie and Bob Rix and their family the latter part of the week. The other guests found it necessary to listen at great length to the exploits of the Class of 1930! When the roads had been cleared sufficiently, I took a rush trip into Hanover one afternoon and had rather hurried but enjoyable visits with Charlie Widmayer and Al Dickerson,— the latter being about to enter the so-called "salt mines" for a period of the next few weeks while choosing the members of the Class of 1956. Walt Dresser and George Frederickson trailed us into town, we hear, but unfortunately there was no chance to see them before home and office called.

A welcome letter was received from Bob Johnson who is now and has been since 1950 located in Lexington, Ky., where he is an associate of the firm of J. Stephen Watkins, Consulting Engineers. Bob's work is mostly concerned with the design phases of sanitary engineering projects, although a great deal of highway work is also done under his supervision. Bob finds that most of his work is in the office although he does manage to get out in the field a couple of times a month. Bob's career in the sanitary engineering field has been one of steady progress upwards on the ladder of achievement and recognition. Bob and his family have found Lexington and Kentucky a fine place to live and believe that with the many moves they have made in the past they are somewhat in the expert class on what constitutes such a place. Bob says that they greatly enjoy the benefits of living in a college town but will forever remain true and loyal to Dartmouth. Bob finds little opportunity for activities other than those connected with his office work, but he has managed to do a little gardening, some stamp collecting, and admits that he is now being smitten by the model railroad bug.
