The Club secretary was asleep at the switch the first part of September and completely passed by the copy for the October issue of the MAGAZINE. Too much vacation, perhaps; but then again, maybe not enough.

The third annual Fun-Raising picnic was held last May and was thoroughly enjoyed by the 50 couples attending. Many thanks and sincere appreciation are in order for Red Jensen '39 and his committee who did a bang-up job on the preparations. SandySanderson '2l and his gracious "Mrs." again put at our disposal their ideal "Shangri La," and to them we are much indebted.

Great plans are in progress this year for the Springfield alumni. A cocktail party just before the Yale game under the direction of Mickie Miller '4O and Ray Barrett '46, and a Dartmouth College Glee Club concert scheduled for the night of December 13 are just two of the many events to come. GeorgeWeston '23 and Russ Chase '50 have generously consented to co-chairman the latter and will call on you to render your support. Let's make both of these events a tremendous success.
