The annual meeting was held on the night of March 3 at Blake's Restaurant in Springfield. The arrangement committee, under the direction of Mike Terrini '39 did an excellent job and a very enjoyable time was had by all 75 who attended.
President Dickey came down from Hanover as our guest and was our main speaker for the evening. His interesting speech on "Higher Education's Contribution to our National Security" as well as a briefing on the sidelights and happenings on the Hanover scene and a day of his life as President of the College were thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated by all the members.
Bill Lieson '32, retiring president, presided at the meeting welcoming the members and guests and gave special mention to the following men for their contribution to the Club during the past year: Mike Ferrini '29, Al Gibney '40, Red Jensen '39, Paul Sanderson '21, Mickey Miller '40, Fred Pillsbury '40, RussChase '50, George Weston '23, and WarnerSturtevant 'l7.
The annual President's Award, presented each year to the man who, in the opinion of the officers and executive committee, has done the most for the Club was given to Red Jensen '39 for his willing contributions in behalf of the Club over a period of years, with special emphasis on the Fun-Raising picnic which he has organized for the past three years. This award was presented in absentia since Red is confined to the Mary MacArthur Respiratory Hospital, Babson Park, Wellesley, Mass.
The new officers and executive committee of the Club for the coming year are as follows: President Albert E. Mayer Jr. '37; Vice President Warner Sturtevant '17; Secretary and Treasurer —George E. Hopkins '46; Assistant Secretary and Treasurer Norman Martin '25. Executive Committee: Dwight Allen '29, M. O. Ferrini '29, William Lieson '32, Raymond Seabury '41, and Gordon Shattuck '30.
Plans are now underway for another active Club year with the first event to be held some time during the latter part of May.
