A note from Robert Stevens's daughter, Diane Creedon, reports that on her foliage trip she visited the '27 Lone Pine and found the stone marker has been moved to a more appropriate spot, thanks to Roger Bury's efforts and influence. It looked great.
Robert Funkhauser's widow, Peg, has made a good recovery from her stroke and has a lovely apartment at The Greens on Lyme Road in Hanover. She highly recommends it if you need just a little help.
Wanderlust led me to Middletown, R.I., where Roger Braman's widow, Jean, still lives in their beautiful home with two of her children. She looks fine and leads a busy life. We reminisced about the many times Ed Baker and I enjoyed outings on their boat and shared an umbrella at the nearby Newport Casino Tennis Tournament. I understand the August social life in Newport is still just as busy!
Chuck Baker and Marie flew to St. Louis for a family holiday. Since Marie was not well enough to join us at our big 70th Reunion, this trip was special.
Assuredly, all of us enjoyed the holiday season, but I venture to say Roger and Lolly were the only ones who spent it on the high seas, going through the Canal to California and returning via a train trip to their home in Florida for the winter. A joyful and healthy winter to all.
