The Class of '07 was represented at the Annual Dinner of the Boston Alumni Association on March 4 by Smart, Coburn, Ashley,Kitching, McLane, Stevens, Lane and W. B.Sanborn.
Moses H. Sanborn, one of three '07 Sanborns, reports a recent change of address from Fremont, N. H., to Hampton, N. H.
Arthur and Mrs. Leavitt report that their children and grandchildren are a major interest in their lives. A recent photograph shows them surrounded by a round dozen of grandchildren. Arthur wants to know whether this is a class record or not. Does anyone accept the challenge? The Leavitt children have followed the example of their parents in roaming around the world. Their oldest son lives in Connecticut and has three boys and one girl. Their oldest daughter has five girls and is the wife of a Navy Commander currently stationed in Washington but expecting an early transfer to another post. The second son has a Government post and is now temporarily overseas for a short period. Two boys and one girl in his family. The younger daughter is in the U. S. Embassy in Madrid. The Leavitts make their home in Fairfax, Va. Arthur is employed in the Archives Building. He and his wife are in good health and he is not ready to retire.
Hobbs Knight is "still pegging along on a halftime basis at Tufts," but expects to move into his winter and summer home at Ogunquit, Me., around June 1. Then he will decide whether or not to retire from his educational responsibilities at Tufts.
Here is Dr. Ralph Perkins' comment on the Class Directory: "The directory of the sturdy and not so sturdy members of '07 is much appreciated. It is much more interesting than necrology. It looks like a long trek to the fiftieth, but 45 years ago it looked much longer."
Herb Mitchell is a busy fellow. Active in his tax accounting firm of Mitchell & O'Brien, he is also President of the LaGrange Federal Savings & Loan Association. Having surplus energy after doing those two jobs, Herb devotes himself also to the problems of Government in his home town. He has three children Hamilton B. '38; Jane, Northwestern '41; and Mike '50. There are six grandsons ranging in age from 5 months to 12 years.
Ralph LeRoy Perkins suffered a painful accident in February. He fell down stairs and damaged his knee painfully and seriously. He may have to undergo an operation and will be obliged to use crutches for some time. Perk's home is in Belmont, Mass.
William C. Wildey, who left Hanover after two years, has retired after an association of 43 years with the United Fruit Co. He has returned to his ancestral farm in Meriden, N. H., where he expects to do just enough farming to keep himself pleasantly occupied.
Harold and Mrs. Niles vacationed on Florida's West Coast for several weeks in March . Norman and Mrs. Cushman planned to visit their son in San Marino, Calif., during March and April.- Gus and Mrs. Wiswall gave Florida's West Coast some weeks of their valuable time in March. Gus has recently retired from the presidency of the Consolidated Paper Box Company. Dick and Mrs. Lane spent their usual late winter vacation in Georgia.
Richard Beck Cunningham died on March 14 at the Veteran's Hospital, White River Junction, Vt. Cunningham entered college from Wellesley Hills, Mass. Though little is known about his mature life and interests, it is known that he spent some years in Santa Monica, Calif., returned to Wellesley Hills, and quite recently transferred to Jaffrey, N.H., which was his residence at the time of his death.
