A deep bow to Acting-Prexy "Judge" McLane '07! If any '07 man failed to read the article about Judge's appointment to act for President Dickey during his European visit, get out that April ALUMNI MAGAZINE now and turn to Page 25. Few men and few classes in Dartmouth's history have enjoyed such an honor. The same "Judge," a man of many talents and interests, was reelected president of the New Hampshire Children's Aid Society in March.
Don Williams enjoyed two golden jubilees during April, - a golden wedding anniversary and a fifty-year membership as a Mason. His Masonic record was marked by the award of a fifty-year medal and gold pin.
Charles Willson, our Farmington, N. H., classmate, reports the death of his oldest son Allan in April. Another son, Charles, was lost in the battle of the Coral Sea during World War 11. Two sons and a daughter live in New Hampshire communities. Charles plans to attend our Fiftieth.
Dick Sou.th.gate reports, on good authority no doubt, that snowfall in Hanover during March established a new record of forty-one and one-half inches! (Editor's note: It rarely snows in Hanover in June, so decide now to attend '07's Fiftieth in 1957!)
Reuben Hayes, for many years a resident of Knoxville, Tenn., is now a resident of Dover, N. H., at 27 Elliott Park. Rube has been with the Southern Railway Company for many years.
Jim O'Neill is the author of another book entitled The Catholic in Secular Education.
Our traveler classmate, Arthur Spear from Portland, Maine, visited Florida and Ohio this winter, calling on classmate Bill Foley and Mrs. Foley in their home in Terrace Park, Ohio, near Cincinnati.
A note to Tom Field brings the response that he has recently (late March) returned home following an operation on his bile duct. Undeterred by New England weather reports or his surgical experience, he plans to be with us at our Fiftieth.
