Duck-boards are in place about this time; this never fails to haul the old memories back to that Hanover "ephus" season.

Bill Burner has just performed a modified Madison Avenue "hat trick" by joining Anderson & Cairns, an advertising agency, in their publicity department. Bill is assisting the director of public relations and publicity with the firm. At Women's Wear Daily Bill gave himself a good "foundation" (if you'll excuse the pun). Also he was an editor of footwear News. Prior to this he did newspaper work for two local N. J. newspapers. Ken Bollerman is working in Brooklyn for an insurance firm. ICen lives out in Okl Tappan, N. J. Brockton, the home of Ch. Rocky Marciano, is Dr. Bob Litwin's place of practice. Bob is an oral surgeon. For you of the area you'll find him at home at 587 Pleasant St. Linn Mcßride is a buyer for Macy's in Kansas City. How does that "6% less" go out there on the plains, Linn?

Herb Manning and Sara Margolis announced their engagement out in Uniontown, Pa. Herb's a lawyer; he received a Master's Degree from the Univ. of Pitt and then his law degree from Pitt Law. They plan to be married this summer, Sara is a graduate of Linden Hall in Lititz, Pa. Lititz is the home of a world-famous pretzel-maker. Herb may find these famous salt twisters on his honeymoon breakfast table if Sara paid attention to her cooking course at Linden Hall.

An encouraging bit of news from Massachusetts way. Bill DeStefano is a new mathematics and social studies teacher in the Ipswich High School. The local paper devoted an article of praise to "deStef" for his recent forthright statement on education in that community. DeStef remarked that student attitude toward school is a reflection of the attitude of the parents. He stated that-education in the community can only be as good as its citizens. At a recent education-week program a very small number of parents attended. DeStef just finished a second round with the Navy in Korea. He has developed a new course in practical math. Each student conducts a project based on his own field of outside interest.

Jim Dolan, the old dean of Fraternity Row, and Betty Kilroy were married in Meriden, Conn., January 9. Jim attended Georgetown Law after Dartmouth and now will go to Phoenix, Ariz., with his bride. He will study at the American Institute for Foreign Trade. Betty is a nurse and was in the Navy Nurse Corps during the Korean War. She was at the Inchon Invasion. You Dolans should look up Ruth and Wayne Frerichs when you get to your new home in Phoenix. Wayne is a Doctor out there. Bob Levinson and Pat Schulte of New York and Stamford, Conn., have announced their engagement. Pat's at Columbia Univ. Bob is a Lt. (jg) in the Navy and prior to this had been very active in the higher education world. He finished Tuck School, then attended Worcester Tech and from there to the London School of Economics.

At last here's a guy who can figure out the new flexible farm price program. Barbara Nutting and Craig Fleming were married at the Little Church Around the Corner this past November. They did Cuba for the honeymoon and are now living on Branch Street in Boston. Barbara is a graduate of Mount Ida Junior College. Old Ralph Fifield just released news of his engagement to Sally Kleindienst of Holyoke, Mass. Sally's a Colby graduate, after which she did post graduate work at B.U.She is a registered Medical Technologist of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and is currently on the faculty at Colby. Ralph is with the First National Bank of Boston. It's easy to see that this couple will see a lot of the good North Country.

While shopping in Woolworth's the other day, who should pop up but Nort Virgien? Nort would not admit that he was buying those toy meters that the TV industry is faking the world with, on program ratings. The Weed Co., radio and TV station reps, is Nort's firm. He just sold his home on L. I. to move up to Yonkers, thus improving his commuting situation. The Virgiens have one child and are expecting their second. Weaving my way on through the assorted candy counters of "Barbara Hutton's gift shop" up pops Bob Norwood, now in NYC for Pequot Mills. He and his wife came down from his greater Boston territory to this promotion nearer the home office. Bob was with Graybar Electric before joining Pequot. The Norwoods are living at 54th St. off Lexington Ave.

LOST - One Dartmouth man, Witmer E.Viggers. Any information as to his whereabouts would be most welcome news to the Alumni Records office. If you have the word send it to Miss Charlotte Ford in Hanover. He was last heard from at the Halacolonie Hotel, Honolulu (I'd never come back either Wilmer).

Well - keep your eye on your old Vernal equinox; it's almost time for sulphur and molasses.
