When a Dartmouth man pauses for a few brief moments to recall fond memories of his college days, he cannot help but recollect the natural beauty that will forever be synonymous with Dartmouth. This is especially true of the fall—for the surrounding countryside is in all its glory at this time of year.

This first semester of the 1947-48 college year got under way with registration on October 2, and promises to be one of the milestones in Dartmouth's long, eventful history. Approximately three thousand students are on campus, and all available facilities are taxed to the limit. As stated in the last article there are 235 '46ers in and around Hanover, so let's take a look at what some of them are doing and have to report relative to other members of our class.

The social season got off to a very successful start over this past week-end here on campus. The "Dartmouth Night" program, in conjunction with the pre-Penn game rally, initiated events. The weather was beautiful, spirits were high, and the hills in and around the town were arrayed in all their natural splendor. Among those seen in the near capacity crowd at Memorial Field were Bud Wingate, mixing Martinis in the stands. ... .Bob Kimball and wife Jackie sitting with Whitey Campbell and Sal Straw Among those members of the class that played a lot of good football that afternoon were: Bill Spoor,Jud Hannigan and Dale "Cupcake" Armstrong.
