Under the caption "Dog's Life Ends" the Boston Globe of October 27 gives an account of Ensign John Tuck Jr., son of our JohnTuck. After "living, eating, sleeping and playing with eleven sled dogs," while being taught to understand and work with these dogs, Tuck and another ensign were to go aboard the U.S.S. Edisto in Boston and leave for the Antarctic on an expedition of scientific exploration.

In another scientific field "Doc" Loder's name appeared in the Boston Sunday Herald of October 9, where he has presented a review of the book, Krebiozen: The Great CancerMystery. Krebiozen is a substance for which claims as a cancer cure were made. Premature publicity as to these claims has caused, it seems, a controversy of major proportions in a matter of very great and wide interest.

After 42 years of connection with the Milton (Mass.) Savings Bank Fred Chase has retired as president. Starting in 1913 as clerk, Fred had climbed the ladder and reached the presidency in 1948. He still continues his connection with the bank as a member of the Board of Investment. Congratulations, Fred on your long and successful career!

Of the '05 family who are known by me to have had the great pleasure of seeing Dartmouth win in the thrilling game with Harvard in Hanover were Bill and Bertha Clough,Fred Chase, with grandson, Robert Chase Foster, Elsie and Marion Grover, Sliver and AlvaHatch and Andy and Bea MacMillan.

A letter from Charles Hodgman expresses his regret that his wife's health prevented his being with us at our reunion. Cold weather has stopped all but a few of his fine collection of roses from blooming. At Lake Baboosie, where Charles and Clara have spent their summers for many years, their son Charles and daughter Margaret with their respective families had visited them.

Registrants at the Hanover Inn in October were Dr. Arthur Kimpton, Ed Richardson and wife and Ned Estes.
