Not many birthdays in March, but we extend greetings in this connection to LouisBenezet and to our genial treasurer Ed Skinner. Fod Martin, on whom most of us had not laid eyes in many years till he came to our 55th Reunion last June, sends "best regards to everybody." Says he has no news; but we're all glad to hear even those few words from him. Laura and Herb Rogers spent Christmas with daughter Virginia Noyes and family at West Springfield, Mass., as has been there custom these years past. Makes quite a trip for them, the 300 miles total from their home in Rockport, but daughter Virginia chauffeurs for them since Herb gave up driving four years ago.

Luke Varney, who missed out on Reunion last June, writes that he is still in excellent health and still active with his law practice; just doesn't like the idea of slowing down in either mental or physical activities. A little over a year ago he closed his New Hampshire home and moved the personal things he needed from there to his New York apartment where his son Walter and wife live with him. Time changes one's outlook, for ten years ago Luke planned eventually to retire to his New Hampshire home and there take things easy. But now he feels that it would not be easy for him to be inactive in business; so he still carries on, "believing fully in the principle that with the mind busy, one has no time to fret about his past mistakes or what the future holds for him. This will give him the opportunity to realize how good life has been to him." Tim Lynch, still sojourning at the Carolina, Pinehurst, N. C., sends along his copy of "The Cracker Barrel," with its notes and comments (though a letter would be better) from which we see him still an ardent golfer, a winner in Class C with a score of 17-20-37. You may know what that means, even if your Sec. doesn't. Dr. LouisBenezet, son of our own Benny and president of Allegheny College, was guest speaker at the December 9 meeting of the Pittsburgh Alumni Club. Amy Ford is spending the winter quietly at her Sarasota, Fla., home and though she gets out but little she is most enthusiastic about '99 and any news of the class. Her sister is with her for a few months

If Florida were not so far away, more of Us could join in the little informal reunions that are so possible for those who winter there. A week or two ago, probably longer than that when you read this, Helen and Warren Kendall motored over the new Sunshine Skyway to St. Pete, They had shortly received a letter from Montie Fuller telling that one of his grandsons, Marcis Brennan's boy, was in the hospital there. But the Brennans were out, so a later call will be necessary. Then a call on Warren's brother at Reddington Beach, lunch with Arch Kendall '98, and on to Dunedin for a gathering of fine Dartmouth enthusiasts There, with cordial greetings by Jean and Fred Lord '98, were Steve Chase '96 and his wife, Henry Crowley '98 and his wife, Melvin Smith '98, Frederick Chase '05, and Laura Lance Scales - quite a gathering, and a very enjoyable tea party. Then for Warren and Helen back over the Skyway for home. This new Skyway makes it grand for getting to St. Pete from the south, for it is open 24 hours a day while the old ferries used to close shop about 8 P.M.

Before this reaches you '99's 55th Roundup at the University Club, Boston, will have been a past event. We'll try to have a report on it in the April issue.

JAMES B. WOODMAN '00 was recently honored at the joint meeting of the New Hampshire and Vermont State Medical Societies forhis fifty years' membership.
