If spring is just around the corner, we're in the middle of a long block as we hunt and peck away for this chronicle. The mercury in our thermometer just dropped out of sight and the local athletes are enjoying ice on the neighborhood ponds, even if the sledding and skiing are non-existent. But at least Uncle doesn't get his bite of last year's income for another month. Meanwhile, back at . . .
THE HITCHING POST.... A trio of nuptials took place during the holly-daze. On December 4 in Haddonfield, N. J., Glen Fitkin wed Marion Keene Glover. They've moved to Toledo where our Class Agent doubles in brass as chief magistrate of the Fitkin Stamping and Manufacturing Company. Brother Hal got himself drafted last August, but was able to act as best man for the ceremony, and after Christmas, we understand, returned to his Fort Holabird station equipped with skis, golf sticks, and martini pitcher. The rumor was confirmed by Jim Melville, manager of the Baltimore branch of Pure Carbonic Company. Jim also checked up on StewYoung this fall and found him in good shape.
International tone is added to our column with the marriage of Lt. (jg) Nelson T.Hovde to Michele Le Pape in Paris, France, December 29. Nob is one of those poor unfortunate naval personnel landlocked in Heidelberg, Germany, where he just can't get seasick. Michele attended the Sorbonne. Society hounds were informed the knot-tying took place in the Chapelle Notre-Dame de Consolation.

WALKING THE LAST MILE.... Again a three-way proposition in this department, and it all began with a visit from Saint Nick and the announcement that Paul Lena and Miss Joan Radcliffe Hadley of Springfield, Vt„ would exchange vows in the spring. Joan is a grad of that unknown (???) institution down the road from Hanover, Colby J. C. Paul is in residency at Mary Hitchcock doing work in internal medicine, and he says other medics participating in similar activities include DickTobin (surgery), Ed Zebrowski (general practice), and Warren Franz (pathology).

INFANT INFO. . . . While strolling through the scenic sections of the Bronx yesterday we encountered Terry Guider toting a couple of Otis Elevators, so we promptly put ourselves outside a couple of cups of coffee and caught up on the lives and times of the Guider group. Said entourage currently consists of Terry, spouse Mary, and young son William Patrick born August 15, 1953. (Red Route please note.) Terry said he's seen Kim Swezey occasionally out on the Island and that the Swezey swarm has an 18-month-old heir, too, but names and dates weren't available. Inkadentally, Kim is working out there in his dad's department store.

Additional data include the fact that Bill is assistant resident in pediatrics this year at Ann Arbor. Among the Injuns in that neck of the woods too are Jack and Fran Hintermeister at the Cranbrook School.
