A report from, Hanover tells us that BobMonahan won a seat in the General Court of New Hampshire in the recent elections.

On October 28, Bill and Kay Andres announced the engagement of their daughter Katherine Weeks to Jonathan Moore '54 of Bloomfield Hills, Mich. Katie is in her senior year at Smith and her fiancé, who recently completed his studies for a master's degree at Harvard Graduate School of Public Administration, will very shortly be associated with the U. S. Information Agency.

Two quotations anent John Dickey are given herewith: on the occasion of his receiving an honorary LL.D. at Princeton recently, his citation from President Dodds read: "John Sloan Dickey, trained in the law, widely experienced in government, leads his faculty, his students and his immensely loyal alumni toward that ultimate goal of self-government: the competence to know the right and the conscience to act upon it." Before the Hanover members of the League of Women Voters, John said: "For the moment, the world is in a precariously safer position for having the use of the atomic and hydrogen bombs than it would be through banishing these weapons while still having the knowledge of making them. If these weapons were banished and hostilities broke out, then they would most certainly be manufactured again and certainly would be used."

Bob and Adrienne Sparks have just announced that on November 2 Lisa Ann arrived to join brother Bob, in 4th grade, and sisters Nan, a high school student, and Sonia, now at Skidmore. We only wish we could show you, in this column, the wonderfully humorous card which brought us this announcement.

We have just heard, with great sadness, of the recent death of Allan Lovejoy after a short illness. Due to receipt of this at the moment of writing, an obituary will be found in next month's issue of the MAGAZINE.

As we have just had occasion to replace a classmate's 25-Year Book, which had been lost in an unfortunate circumstance, we wish to take this opportunity to remind all members of the class that your Book Committee arranged to have a few extra copies printed so that they might be available during the coming years for just such situations. Requests for replacement copies should be addressed to your secretary.
