Life and change are synonymous. This observation is proven by our research with Twenty-Niners. For example, Phil and AliceMayher were settled in Chappaqua as recently as last November - they were rooted there. Phil could recite the New York timetable without a flaw. Now we find them ensconced in the country town of Norwell, Mass., with mail box No. 156 on Common Street. The telephone number is 118262927. The title to their new house has been guaranteed by Andres so we have hope that they will not be moving again in a hurry. Phil is beating the bushes in New England for Spring Mills and we expect a frenzied cotton market in these parts. Bill Dodge has moved to R R 1, L'Orignal, Ontario, Canada - connoting a rural environment. There seems to be an exodus from the cities. DolsonSmith is living at R. D. 1, Ringoes, N. J. Gerry and Marj Swope have flown the coop to India, temporarily, we believe, in the interests of General Electric Co. Moving on to Curacao, Netherlands Antilles, we find Harris Huston presiding as the American Consul General. Jack Gunther is mentally and physically involved with the development of a chemical plant in Kentucky for Air Reduction Co. Ed Ellinger is now at Mountain Ranch in California. And Ed Harris is Assistant Secretary of Merchants Mutual Insurance Co. in Boston with a residence at King Caesar Lane, Duxbury.

The Boston Herald recently featured a cartoon sketch of Dud Orr. It was hardly cognizable but the label was valid. Dud was elected President of the Board of Trustees of Exeter Academy in keeping with the theme of the alumni meeting, "1970 - Looking Ahead."

Another wedding has occurred. The announcement was made that the bride, the former Mary Elizabeth Richardson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman H. Richardson, of Sharon, Mass., was given in marriage by her father. Her tiered veil fell from a circle of orange blossoms. The bridegroom is David Murray Rivers, an alumnus of Springfield College.

Senator Robert S. Monahan, Republican and Democrat, representing the Fifth District comprising the Southern half of Grafton County, has announced that he is a candidate for re-election in 1962. "If renominated and elected," he explained, "I would continue my policy of supporting whomever may be Governor when I think he is right, but actively opposing him when I believe he is wrong. I am not interested in any personal political pay-off. I am interested in doing what I can as an experienced Senator to assure responsible government at the State level." The populace should sit up and take notice of these undying phrases. The Senator is chairman of the Engrossed Bills Committee, Vice-chairman of the Committee on Resources, Recreation and Development, Clerk of the Education Committee and a member of the Agriculture Committee.

While perusing the front page of the Newark Evening News of December 14, 1961, the evening of our wedding anniversary, we were attracted to a familiar visage over the headlines, "National Newark Bank Shifts Top Posts." Gustave Wiedenmayer, better known to us as Gus, had been elected the new President of National Newark and Essex Banking Co. We have always known that the 14th day of December is a red letter day. Gus joined the Bank in 1929 and came up through the ranks — thus renewing our faith in the merit system.

The Flint, Mich., Journal appeared on our desk recently with the picture of another renowned classmate, to wit, Rt. Rev. ArchieHenry Crowley. Archie is the suffragan bishop of the Diocese of Michigan. The paper says that "his responsibilities include the department of boys' work, the department of Christian Social relations, the Girls' Friendly Society, laymen's work, the marriage commission of advice and others." That word "others" leaves us in suspense but we can state further that he is a member of the Joint Commission of Society and Alcohol of the National Council of the Episcopal Church and the president of the American Indian Foundation.

Mort and Peggy Jaquith have taken flight to Chicago to become acquainted with their new grandson.

That's all the news - there isn't any more.
