Not long ago came a letter from PhilThompson. He has changed his address and I unfortunately have lost his letter so I cannot give you the new address. As a matter of fact, he has moved from his house to his son's place around the corner, that is, from Ship Channel Road to Channel Road, so that his son may have the larger house with room for his five children. Phil and Jenny do not need so much room since their family consists only of themselves.

Phil wrote that during the past few months he had seen Louis Dow and found him much improved in health. Keep up the good work, Louis. Believe me, I am going to find Phil's letter. Better than that - my wife says she is going to find it.

Stella, my wife, is just out of the hospital and is slowly recovering. We went to the New Smyrna Hotel for our Christmas dinner. And hurray! I was able to have roast beef for dinner instead of turkey.

It has been raining all day long in this town of which we brag that we don't have long rains. However, my lawn and garden are thriving under the wet. I wish you could all see my greatly improved house with its new coat of interior paint. Honest, it looks fine.

Why in heck don't more of you send me news items? Very well, if you like to have me spend time writing about me and mine, it's OR by me.

Thanks to all you people who sent me Christmas cards.

My wife is up and she already has found that Phil's new address is 19 Channel Road, South Portland 7, Maine.

I suggest that you add to your address book, Cyril A. Smith, 54½ Gainsboro St., Boston. A recent communication from the Alumni Office tells me that Frank Drake has been at the Hanover Inn.

I was vastly pleased to receive in this morning's mail a copy of the Orange Disc, the official magazine of the Gulf Oil Company. In it appears an account of the dinner given for Frank Drake by the directors and principal officers of the Gulf Company at the Duquesne Club in Pittsburgh. Included in this article is an account of Frank's whole business life from his beginning in the Springfield Chamber of Commerce till the present time. Among the illustrations is a very wonderful picture of Ducky himself, painted by Elmer W. Green Jr.

The last I heard of Percy Dorr he was once more himself. I hope and pray that Percy may never have to go back to a hospital. I think I told you of trying to see him last summer and failing.

J. Frank Drake '02, whose portrait was unveiled at a testimonial dinner at the Duquesne Club,Pittsburgh, on November 22, is shown with fellow directors of the Gulf Oil Corporation, withwhich Mr. Drake has been affiliated for 36 years. Elected president in 1931, he has served aschairman of the board, chairman of the executive committee, and following his retirement inApril 1955, as a director of the corporation. L to r: W. K.
