In my last notes I told you of the passing of Harriette Perkins. Like me, I am sure that each classmate aches for dear Mose, as well as for himself as he is flooded by the thought that he will not see Harriette at the class reunions which she always attended. We shall hope that Mose feels able to attend the 55th reunion. We all hope and pray that God will bless and give comfort to Mose.
A notice from the college tells me that Frank Drake was at the Hanover Inn on the seventh of this month.
It was pleasant to have a letter from Ben Riley under the date of November 18. He enclosed a little photograph of himself when he was weighing 124-125 pounds, which seems unbelievable when one remembers the Ben who used to weigh 195-200. Ben plans to be with us at our reunion in June.
A good letter from Herm Farwell tells of his removal from Leonia, N. J., where he has lived for many years to a new and smaller house at 35 DuBois Street in Noroton, Conn. Hermon writes that the wife now has only five rooms to care for. He is curious to know just when we went to see our daughter in Connecticut. We went on the train on the fifteenth of September and returned a month later. I had forgotten how much colder it was in Connecticut than in Florida. Therefore, I was reduced to borrowing some warm clothing from my son-in-law. Yes, it fitted.
A letter from Percy enquires if we plan to be present at the 55th reunion. Of course I plan to go, dear Percy. I guess that I was so sure of going that I took it for granted that everyone knew about it. I thank the committee for holding a room and bath in the White Cupboard.
I wonder if it would be of any interest to you fellows to know that our second great-grandson, Tom Read Clapp, the son of Tom Clapp '52, arrived the day after Christmas. Of course we are delighted at his safe arrival. He is just a year and a half younger than his cousin, Tim Warren Holcomb, our oldest great-grandson.
We'll be looking for you all at the fifty-fifth. There is so much to swap yarns about. God bless you, everyone!
P.S. Be sure to come to the 55th reunion. For most of us there can't be many more reunions.
