After reading through another bundle of engagements and marriages, this column definitely takes on a Dorothy Dix flavor.

Last month I bumped into Skip De L'Etoire while taking the army physical exam. We both expect to get the call in two months, although the draft board said from "three weeks to three years."

John "Snake" DiIorio married Paula Lanigan December 29. The couple, both from Winchester, Mass., now live in Nashua, N. H.

During Christmas leave, Bob Slater and Lyn Nagel became engaged - their plans call for a summer wedding. The bride-to-be went to Wellesley and is now at Northwestern. Bob is at Fort Knox, Ky., finishing advance training before he enters Officers' Candidate School with the army.

Lt. Dave Perry, U.S.M.C.R., married Miss Pamela Wicks of Wellesley, Mass. Dave was recently commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps after graduating from the Naval Air Training Command. After a brief wedding trip, he and his bride will live at Cherry Point, N. C., where he will be stationed.

Frank P. Strong, Jr., and Miss Barbara Sue Bavier will be married come June. Frank is now studying for his Master's degree in business and engineering at the Tuck-Thayer Graduate School.

Miss Valkye McGlone is engaged to Steve Winslow. Both Miss McGlone and Steve are graduates of English High School, Class of 1952. She is a senior in the Simmons College School of Nursing.

A February wedding is in the making for Jo Ann Paquette and Larry Morse. Miss Paquette was graduated from the Mary Hitchcock Memorial School of Nursing in September 1956. Larry is now attending the University of New Hampshire, where he is studying for his Master's degree.

Red Fitzsimmons plans to marry Miss Harriet McCall this spring. The prospective bride was graduated from Colby Junior College and the Katherine Gibbs School. Red is with the William S. Merrell Company, Cincinnati, pharmaceutical concern.

Herb West is an active member of Psi Upsilon fraternity at the University of Chicago which recently sponsored the opening social event of the campus calendar, the annual "Hard Times Party." Herb, well remembered for his "Meh" campaign, is pursuing graduate study in English at Chicago, and is an officer of Psi Upsilon and a member of the group of University athletic letter winners, the Order of the "C."

And the Army news — Army 2nd Lt. John Flahman has been graduated from the Ordnance School at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md. Fred Baker recently got hitched to Miss Jeromee Skehan of Jenkentown, Pa. The bride attended Hood College and the Cornell Nursing School in New York City. Fred is presently stationed at Moore Air Base, Mission, Tex. Also 2nd Lt. Walt Hetfield and Miss Ingrid Hylbom were married in December. The couple will reside in Detroit, where Walt is stationed with the Army Ordnance.

Dave Shaffer, a senior in the pre-medical course at Ohio Wesleyan University, recently gave the diamond to Miss Diane H. Turner. Miss Ann Bockwinkel and Tony Newey announced their engagement this past December. Ann is a senior at Wellesley College. At present, Tony is taking graduate work at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The wedding will take place June 15 in the River Forest Methodist Church after Miss Bockwinkel's graduation from Wellesley.

Lt. Roy C. Hinkle and Miss Elizabeth Faltings have become Mr. and Mrs. Roy is stationed at Maiden Air Base, Maiden, Mo., as a jet pilot trainee. A fall wedding is planned for Dudley Heath and Miss Susan Redington. The same season will see John Gorman join hands with Miss Milicent Spear. John is at the University of Connecticut Law School in Hartford.

Mr. and Mrs. Nicolass den Hartog of Zaandam, Holland, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Anna den Hartog, to Paul F. Keith. Paul is a med student at the New York Medical School of Flower Fifth Avenue Hospital.

Ken Geary is presently employed with Grace Lines, Inc., New York City. A Second Lieutenant, U.S.A.R., he expects to be called to active duty in March. Just last month he announced his engagement to Miss Patricia Ryan.

Bob Becker is doing graduate work in architecture and city planning at Cornell University. While Dick Thorp, studying at Boston University School of Medicine has picked August to take Rosamond Wheeler as his bride.

"Buzz" George, Bill Skiff and Jack Hubbard have just received their commissions as Ensigns from Naval Officers Candidate School, Newport, R. I. Buzz has been assigned to the destroyer Haynesworth at Norfolk, Va. Bill goes to Jacksonville and Jack to Charleston, S. C.

"Dusty" Johnstone, a member of the Dartmouth College ski team for the last four years, will be instructor at a ski school at the Dartmouth Skiway at Holt's Ledge. (Persons inter- ested in learning the ropes should call PYramid 5-7891.)

Since your secretary is connected with "Mad Ave" (Madison Avenue) it won't be this column which brings on the ulcers. Yet, before I get too "psyched" please write and give me info besides the usual 1,000 engagements and marriages. You must be involved in other ventures, even if only part-time. Adios.
