Big news item of the month concerns John Cole. He has received a $200 graduate fellowship grant from Allied Chemical's Nitrogen Division. An organic chemistry major, John is studying for his Master's degree at the University of Wisconsin. This was one of 40 such fellowships granted to students in the United States and Canada. Part of a long standing program by the company, the awards are aimed at developing technically trained leadership for the chemical industry.
First Lt. Dick Whitney has just recently been discharged from the Marine Corps after two years' service. Graduated from Platoon Leaders' School at Quantico, Va., he then served for 14 months on Okinawa and in Japan.
Mrs. Frank T. Julian and her three children arrived in Hanover on September 5, after having spent a year in Hawaii where her husband, Tobey, was stationed as a 1st lieutenant with the Marine Corps. They lived in Pearl Harbor and Tobey played basketball for the Marines and was the leading player of the team which won the All Marine championship tournament. Tobey now has a job with New England Telephone and Telegraph so he, Nancy and their three children, Lynne 3, Lizzie 1, and Karen 3 months, will soon be living in the Greater Boston area.
A December 27 wedding is planned for Sarah Terrill and Dave Gleason. Dave is a junior at the University of Michigan School of Medicine.
Those who have already taken the vows include Evelyn Tomec and Dave Kerr. Dave is now associated with Burlington Industries, New York.
This past September Bob Mongeon married Miss Frances Butler. On return from a wedding trip of unannounced destination, Bob and the Mrs. made their home at 1084 Fen-wood Drive, Valley Stream, Long Island. Bob is an engineer for Sperry Gyroscope Co., Great Neck, long Island.
Paul Nelson and Judith Kelly round out our Dorothy Dix announcements. The bride attended Bates College and was graduated from Rhode Island School of Design. Lt. Nelson is stationed aboard the U.S.S. Perry at Newport, R. I.

ChuckEllicott is assistant product promotion manager, Monsanto Chemical Co., Springfield, Mass. Roger Emerson is a graduate student at Brandeis University. Bob Grossman continues law studies at Yale. Don Hessler is an investment clerk with the Union and New Haven Trust Co., New Haven, Conn. TomHoldorf is with New York Life Insurance Co., Milwaukee, Wis. Andie Merrels is in sales work for Owens-Corning Fiberglas Corp., Chicago, Ill. Barry Bockus sent along a newsy letter this month. After graduation he joined the Army and wound up at a NATO headquarters in Izmir, Turkey, where he was English instructor for Turkish and Greek Army and Air Force senior officers. Barry was fortunate in being able to do extensive touring throughout continental Europe. He had time to continue his brass-playing activities and played with an Italian band in one of Izmir's night clubs. This past July Barry bid farewell to the service and joined Manufacturers Trust Company in New York City as a trainee in commercial credit. Civilian life is wonderful but Barry still thinks of donkeys and camels, not cars, as the principal mode of transportation.
Bob Danziger has just been made assistant sales manager of Knapp Shoe Corp.'s Pacific Coast Division. He and the Mrs. now live at 2484 West Whittier Blvd., La Habra, Calif.
