Again, Brethren, the news is a bit "skoshi," as "Number One Jo San" might say it. And, had it not been for a recent 2600-mile journey, Texas-New York-Georgia, a new record for brevity would have been set in the few lines that follow. So, if you are the least bit annoyed at reading about the same small but cherished group of correspondents or frequently encountered aces of the wild blue, friend fivers, please send your complaints hither. (But be sure to include some news and a few pictures so that our lean column can regain its former portliness.)

Speaking of "wild" (there was some mention of something "wild" in the above paragraph as I remember), Web is here at Moody with me, or I with him since he was first to arrive. Web Wilde and myself are both stationed in the land of the peach and the paper-shell pecan and eternal sunshine (20 degrees plus yesterday and snow flurries). Web's a "jack of all trades" in Base Operations, flying people and things all over the Southeastern U.S. in a T-33. I know he's busy because it took me three days to catch him on the ground between flights.

En route to Georgia, your scribe stopped in once again to visit Ace Hall in Washington, ton,D. C. Fortunately, Ace, being a well-traveled fifty-fiver and a seeker out of Dartmouth gatherings both social and nuptual, had a vast compendium of news to offer. Same news was inscribed on a napkin from the Boiling AFB Officer's Club bar which will, from here on. serve as the primary source of this month's ramblings.

Pep Perry, Lt. (j.g.) in the Coast Guard, is back from a one and a half-year tour in the Far East. Pep shuttled between Honolulu and Hong Kong aboard the USS Kui Kui. He's now stationed in Boston and will help coach the MIT crew this coming spring.

Also in the Boston area is Pete Teal accompanied by his wife Ann and "swinging son," Chris. Pete is in his second year at Harvard Medical School. Dick Mount, likewise as an IBM typewriter salesman and "hobnobs with Boston society at parties including Tony DeMarco, Ted Williams, etc." (Who else is there in Boston society?)

Harry Ambrose is at Headquarters Marine Corps in D. C., and lives in Arlington, Va., with his wife, Margie, and daughter, Julie ("a real doll").

John Dell Isola is at Portsmouth, N. H.. with the Strategic Air Command and a big Cadillac car. (Reminds me of a story about the $64,000 question. John.)

Ace writes that all the above were present at Jim Nelsen's wedding to Betty Jo Graham (Framineham Teachers College at Dedham, Mass.). Johnny Dell was best man, and Web and Pete were ushers. Jim plans to work in Chicago for the Northern Trust Company. He graduated from Michigan University Business School in June and spent a "total of 21 days in the Army - (censored)."

Others who received mention on the historic document were Woody Goss who's engaged to Nancy Douthet of Sweet Briar. They plan to be married this month. Woody's in the Army at Washington and will be there 'til June. John Harlor is engaged to a mysterious girl from Ohio State to whom we can only refer as Laura . (This is no reflection on Laura, but merely a result of our own short memory - someone spilled a martini on that part of the napkin.)

So much for our District of Columbia Branch Office of Alumni '55 Inc.

Further South I stumbled upon another familiar face out of the not too distant past. At Warner Robbins, Ga., I encountered "Colonel" John ("Greek") Demas, one-sixth owner of a laree (Ah said Large!) Southern "Plantation." "Greek" and five fellow flyers rent a country home with 105 acres of woodland, a stocked lake (swimmable), four riding horses, and one male servant who is modestly referred to as their "slave." John has been taking the "grande tour" state-side and abroad — "par avion" as it were. With the exception of two weeks in a hospital in the Azores, he has survived the rigors of world travel in good shape.

While we're still relatively up in the air, it would be appropriate to mention that Lt. Rufe Choate is a helicopter pilot, with the Marine Corps at New River, N. C. Rufe married Marilyn White, a Mount Holyoke graduate, last September. Rufe and Marilyn reside in Jacksonville. N. C., at present.

Dave Anderson will marry Anita Mae Pascal of Easton, Pa. Anita is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. Dave just completed two years' service in the Army.

Dan Musser and Amelia Epler were married last November. Amelia is an Earlham College (Richmond, Ind.) alumna and a native ot Circleville, Ohio. Dan just returned from an 18-month tour of duty in Japan and is now associated with the Grand Hotel, Mackinaw Island, Mich.

Jim Venman continues to do Dartmouth proud at Harvard Law. Jim and partner helped place their "Club" in the final round of the Ames Moot Court competition. Participation ticipationin the final round is one of the highest honors attainable in the school, according to the news release.

Napkin and all, you'll have to admit that our column is slipping - with my very capable aid - toward the brink of mediocrity. Any and all contributions of humor or ribaldry etc. etc. etc., will be gleefully accepted at this end.

Remember the Hopkins Memorial Dinner on the fifth of this month and the Alumni Fund Drive soon to get in full swing. So long for now.
