Makie Makepeace was elected president of the National Bank of Wareham on the retirement of his father last May. Our clipping bureau slipped up, so that, plus the modesty of the man concerned, is our alibi for why we are late with the news. The only reason we caught up with it was that a clipping arrived mentioning that Makie had just been made a trustee of Tobey Hospital. Makie got his master's degree at Harvard Business School and worked for eleven years in the Chase National Bank, New York, before returning to Wareham. He was elected treasurer of the A. D. Makepeace Co., one of the largest concerns in the cranberry business, a position he still holds. During the war he served in the Navy eighteen months. He is active in community affairs and is a trustee of Tabor Academy, director of Buzzards Bay National Bank, and a trustee of the Wareham Savings Bank. Makie and Ann have a daughter at Gould Academy, Bethel, Me., and a son at home.

Don Chapman, who has been manager of the Sears store in Sao Paulo, Brazil, since 1949, is now running the Sears store at 337 West Main St., Huntington, Long Island. Particularly happy about the move are Peggy and their four children, whose ages range from 13 to 8.

At the Hopkins dinner in New York we picked up various items of news. From HildaRickenbaugh we learned that she and Rick had driven all the way from Denver in their station wagon in order to bring one of her prize collies to show at the Westminster Dog Show. Kent Rickenbaugh '59 and Bill Morton Jr. '59 are both members of Theta Delta Chi.... Curly Prosser missed the affair because he was on a recruiting tour for Young & Rubicam.... Frost Wilkinson's daughter, Anne, aged 22, is a ballerina with the Ballet Russe.

Rem and Reliance Kinne have announced the engagement of their daughter, Reliance, to Howard J. Rickets, of Chicago. Reliance graduated from Wellesley in 1957 and Howard from Oberlin in 1954. He expects to be graduated from Harvard Medical School this June.

Ted and Jeanne Howard have announced the engagement of their daughter, Ann, also Wellesley '57, to Stuart S. Tuller of Stock-bridge. Ann is teaching at the National Cathedral School, Washington, D. C. Her fiance graduated from Amherst in 1957 and is now a student at Virginia Episcopal Theological Seminary, Alexandria, Va.

Red and Frances Sanborn's daughter, Patricia, who graduates from Mt. Holyoke next month, has been awarded a fellowship for graduate study of philosophy at Columbia University.

Barney Nova's son, Barry, and his fiancee, Maureen Bagain, were pictured in the New York Herald Tribune last month, attending that paper's School for Brides and Bridegrooms.

Earl Fain had Rupe and Dora Thompson around to his house for a drink on their recent flying trip to Dallas. Earl Fain III '55 was just discharged from the Army in Europe and is now on the "grand tour"; Jim Fain is a student at S.M.U.

Munny and Elise Raymond's daughter. Carol, was married to John Ritschard of Riverton, N.J., last September 14, their 25th wedding anniversary. Carol and John graduated from Colorado College last June and are now at Newport, R.I., where John is attending the Navy's Officer Candidate School.

Jack Rose has sent us word that Willard Isham died March 22 in Los Angeles as the result of an auto accident, bringing to a close an inspiring success story. Details will follow next month.
