Fortunate indeed are those of us who, 53 years after graduation, remain very active in affairs. Prominent among these is HenryNorton. With his daughter Virginia Elliott, he visited nearly all of the more important cities of Europe this fall. His object was to study various transit systems, a subject to which, as we know, he has devoted much time and energy with effective results.

He left San Francisco Sept. 22 and on the next day started from Los Angeles for Copenhagen. Not to enumerate each of his 25 or more stops in Europe, after the two other Scandinavian capitals, he touched at such exciting places as Moscow, East and West Berlin, and Cologne. In a broad circle he stopped at Brussels, London, Paris, Istanbul and Athens; then back through various Italian and Spanish cities to Lisbon, whence he returned to New York. For the most part he flew; in parts of Italy and Spain he went by express train. It must have been a thrilling experience for both Henry and Virginia. We hope the journey was equally effective from the point of view of his transit study.

A cheerful letter from Fred Brown states that he keeps very busy. Though handicapped by physical infirmities and compelled to observe a strict regimen, he is able to get about and devotes much time to the Order of De Molay, an organization of adolescent boys. He says he had thought that when he retired from teaching he would be through with youngsters. However, fate has decreed otherwise. Though these boys, he says, often drive him to distraction, somehow he likes the work and continues it. That's the fine old football spirit, Fred.

The Tucker Foundation Convocation brought enough '05 men and wives to Hanover to have a pleasant little reunion. Lunching and dining together at various times were Fred Chase, Percy Ladd, Roger and Jane Brown, "Elsie" and Marion Grover, C. C. and Isabel Hills, Royal and Ida Parkinson. They report that the installation of Dean Berthold went off very successfully and propitiously.

The annual pre-Harvard game dinner in Boston was held as scheduled and was a pleasant affair. However, "Sliver" Hatch, who has been managing this event for several years now, feels somewhat discouraged over the small attendance. Roger Brown, Cornish and Parkinson were the only other '05 men present. Possibly the time has come, because of shrinking numbers, to discontinue this meeting. In any case, Sliver would like to have some one else take over the management, if it is to be continued. Are there any volunteers for this job?

Florida is beckoning to the usual habituees of our class. Quite surely the weather we had around Thanksgiving Day will not have lessened their yearning for sunnier skies. Fred Chase was planning to leave Dec. 3. His address as heretofore: Box 565 Dunedin. C. C. and Isabel Hills plan to go sometime before Dec. 23. Roger and Jane Brown and "Elsie" and Marion Grover in early or mid January. The latter couple doesn't care to stay put too long at a time. Besides the trip to Hanover already mentioned, they took in the Penn game with "Sliver" and Alva Hatch, and, if the weather is propitious, hope to do sortie ice fishing in Maine.
