Last spring a new Dartmouth magazine appeared on campus. Named Greensleeves by its founders, Jon Mandaville '59 and Larry Kramer '59, it was intended to fill the gap left by the defunct Quarterly. The group behind the new publication, consisting for the largest part of members of the classes of '61 and '62, enthusiastically planned an entirely new format. Greensleeves became a magazine of both literature and visual art: featuring drawings, sketches, and paintings as well as stories and poetry. A cover photograph and story illustrations were used in the first issue.
The most radical and the most important innovation, however, was the introduction of faculty contributions. This year, the new directorate hopes to be able to pool the resources of the entire Dartmouth family for its material, including alumni as well as undergraduates and faculty members. Efforts are being made to contact certain Dartmouth authors, and others whom we may not know about we hope will contact us. Subscriptions to the magazine will also be made available to the alumni. We will publish three editions every year, beginning this year with a Winter Carnival issue.
Any Dartmouth writer interested in helping our fledgling enterprise, either by submitting some manuscripts or just by a friendly letter of advice and criticism, will be greatly appreciated. Send correspondence to: Harry Kreamer, 210 Cutter Hall, Hanover, N. H.
