Tragedy strikes again. "Ike" Seelman has written me that on March 1, 1959' Carl Robert Ahrens, son of George L. and Constance Ahrens, and "Ike's" grandson, was killed in an automobile accident between Manchester and Londonderry, Vt. He was prominent in athletics, his interest being in football and baseball. He was also a good student. Those who attended the "60th" will recall that his mother was with us. We wonder why such things happen, but we will never know.
"Ike's" wife, Gertrude, has been entertaining a severe virus attack, and was unable to attend the services.
I find that I am getting younger every day. The spring season is putting spring in my legs and no one should attempt to fence me in.
No word from any other members of 1898.
