Class Reunion - The 14th Hanover — June 19, 20, 21

If the Editor has been so brave as to print the picture, you should have a good idea of how hard the average class officer works at his job. This one hasn't even had time to shave! He is (hopefully) so busy collecting and recording your dues that his whiskers have just plain run away with him. Seriously, though, Barney has several excuses for the lush foliages that graces his chops. They were originally grown for the something-cen-tennial of Elyria, Ohio, but Herr Oldfield having grown quite attached to them (and they to him), just couldn't... and there they are. Later Barney commented that everytime he returned to Hanover, everyone said, Barney, you haven't changed a bit" so he decided to shake them up a little. I must admit I was real shook. And I refuse to record what the reaction was when he walked into Tanzi's. However, the Executive Committee has decided that if the "Beaver" appears at reunion then the "coup de grace" can be delivered by the highest bidder. Proceeds to enrich the class treasury.

I attended one of the Boston meetings of the Development Council program and was greatly impressed by two things: the wonderful success that the program has enjoyed so far, and the tremendous effort that has been put into its success by people like you and me, Dartmouth Alumni. Sitting together at a table were Ted Smith, with the First National Bank of Boston, Sumner Dorfman, Frank Edmands, Nick Sandoe, and SEC. DougDonahue was also in attendance. The dinner was delicious and there was a tremendous turnout for the gathering.

Several nights later, at the Harvard-Dartmouth hockey game, I chanced across Nick again, this time with Bob Allen, new Public Relations Director for the Kendall Co. We finally alighted next to John Mac Donald and held our collective breaths while Dartmouth slipped by 4-3, on her way to the Ivy League hockey title.

And now to run around the country, pinpointing several potential reunionees. JohnHartshorn, located in Wayne, Penna., working in Philadelphia for General Refractories Co. as Assistant Secretary. In Allentown, Penna., it's Ed Kohn, whose place of business is Hess, Inc. of Perth Amboy, N. J. Living in Berwyn, Penna., is Tom Lewis, who commutes daily to Philadelphia and his position as Vice-Pres. in charge of sales for the ElliotLewis Corp. Tom Davidson is a Security Analyst with Bacon Stevenson, with offices in New York and residence in Garden City. I note with interest that Jim Dickson, having been finally roped and tied in matrimony, has forsaken the Beantown to practice medicine in Pennsylvania. His home base is now Ardmore. Bill Fellows is Senior Development Engineer for Minneapolis-Honeywell Regulator Co. in St. Petersburg, Fla., with residence in Clearwater. Fred Kahn serves as a Supervisory Criminal Investigator, Ordnance Corps, Military Police Criminal Investigations, Raritan Arsenal, Metuchen, N. J.

From the Kansas City Star comes news of pending nuptials. They are those of Charley Walthall to Miss Judith Yeaman of Sedalia. Dr. Bill Hatt has recently been awarded a certificate by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. Bill practices in Sarasota, Fla.

A nice note from Dr. Cameron Cray informs us that he has been elected Chief, Division of Psychiatry, Palo Alto-Stanford Hospital Center. Cam also notes that he will be unable to attend the 15th reunion but has his bag packed already for the 25th. Excellent planning. T,„

And that's it for April. In two months I'll see many of you in person. As the weeks go by I get itchier and itchier for the great day. How about you? Will I see you?

At the '45 executive committee meeting in Hanover were: (left to right) Stan Newton, Hewitt, Charlie Holt, Geoff Maclay, Betty Newton, Barney and Molly Oldfield in front of Vic Smith, and Sam Cutler. The Oldfield whiskers are seen at closer range on this page.
